(26 reviews) This hotel is comfortable and clean. The reception and breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is very near the central train station. While our room was spacious and comfortable, the door to an adjoining suite allowed so much noise - we could hear the neighbours as if they were in our room. Additionally, we were given a mini-bar price list, but no actual fridge in the room. They also have a rule of not bringing any food back to your room! The safe also did not work. There was a split of AC/heat, a large closet and desk. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast started at 8am. It consisted of very tasty pastries, yoghurt, and cereal in a nicely decorated room by reception. I would recommend the hotel as a clean, comfortable place to stay but definitely minimalist. And perhaps other rooms are better sound-proofed than ours was... My wife and I travel a lot and normally go to very good hotels which are bigger, but we wanted to try a boutique hotel this time and it did not disappoint. We stayed for 6 nights. For starters, their people are wonderful, with a special shout out to Martina at the front desk and the young lady that runs the breakfast (we should know her name). The location is great, the hotel is in great condition. We stayed in a junior suite and it was a really good size. We tend to be on the picky side, and honestly we can’t find anything bad to say. This is a tiny hotel, about 12-15 suites in total, and you feel welcomed and well taken care of. Rome is not small, so depending on your interests this may not be the best location, but it’s 10 minute walk to forum, 20 minutes walk to Colosseum, 45 minutes walk to Vatican museum. Trevi, Spanish Steps, shopping, any kind of restaurants — everything is a short walk from the hotel. The welcome Prosecco and fruit was appreciated. Location great and staff friendly. Unfortunately, the room was so dark, dreary and depressing. We had issues- toilet not flushing, shower not draining, and the bedding is disappointing. Brunch was nice, bar also disappointing. Some of the staff smelled like body odor and just over all not inviting. The water took a long time to become hot, and the heat in the room was a bit archaic. The bath also didn’t drain properly at first. There also wasn’t much sound insulation between the rooms. But I did enjoy the location of where the hotel was, the morning coffee, and the staff was very kind. Overall I’d say it was a decent place to sleep at night, and I’d advise you to let the water get hot before you get in the shower. (275 reviews) We are Canadians who stayed 2 weeks at this hotel and so happy we did. This hotel offered amazing staff, great atmosphere, fantastic cappuccinos and espresso’s. The breakfast had an abundance of selection. Eggs, bacon the usual and of course Italian style. We would share a bottle of wine on the terrace at night and enjoy the view. We were there Nov 29 until Dec 13\. We would say the best time to visit Italy. We selected this hotel because it was away from the city center and more into the local area. Things were much cheaper especially groceries at PAM local. Favorite restaurant near by was I Belcastro about 10 mins away and the best margarita pizza you will ever taste. The bus is very close and the number of bus that gets you everywhere is bus 62 or 60\. Get a bus pass to save money at the local station. But if you want to burn off calories and take a great walk, we waked about 3 to 5km a day. You won’t even notice that you walked that far because it’s a pleasant walk. So try both. If your like us and don’t want to stay in hotels in the heart of town where a billion people are than choose Hotel Delle Civette.
