The pool and the beach are excellent. The place could use a little updating. No live music was played by the bar in the afternoon

We stayed in the Ocean king lodge with the outdoor tub soaker. That was the best part of the trip. The worst part of the trip was the sargassum. Because our soaker tub was outside, it was hard to even enjoy that because of the smell. They said they cleaned it every morning, but not in front of my room. It was hard to walk around some aspects of the resort without holding your breath. They should have citronella candles/lanterns or something to overcome the smell. The shuttle service was helpful, it will drive you anywhere within a 2 mile radius. Pools and dock were full of families. I did enjoy fishing though, the kids are so happy when they catch a fish. I didn’t get to try the kayaks or paddle boards, again, because of the sargassum. The staff and stay was ok. It was the little things, for example, our phone didn’t work. I went to the front desk to tell them, it wasn’t fixed and we constantly had to keep walking back to concierge during the trip for any requests. We didn’t get champagne when we walked in, they didn’t even give us the WiFi password …that was another trip to concierge. Nobody was rude but overall just disappointing. It was mediocre for even a regular hotel, let alone a resort

It was clean, family friendly, quiet but yet plenty to do. It’s island time so sometimes when you want to do an activity like kayaking the employees take their time or when the coffee runs out in the main lobby it can be a guessing game as to who will fill it. We loved our stay though and they were so sweet to our toddler.
