Penang Island Cheap Holidays

One of the worst hotel experiences my family and I have ever had. The first room we were given had an overwhelming sewage-like odor. It genuinely smelled like raw sewage, to the point where it was impossible to stay in the room and we immediately requested a different one. Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t much better. The bed linens were stained, so I called the front desk for clean sheets. I wish I was exaggerating, but housekeeping had to bring nine different sets of linens before we finally got one without stains. Almost every set had visible stains, including what appeared to be blood. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about hygiene. The soap provided in the room was also extremely poor quality and felt very cheap. To make matters even worse, while my family and I were having dinner in the lobby restaurant, a mouse ran right past our table. Seeing a rodent in a hotel’s dining area was the final straw. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff member who kept bringing replacement linens was polite, patient, and genuinely tried his best to help. Aside from his efforts, this hotel was a complete disappointment. Between the unbearable sewage smell, the unsanitary stained linens, and seeing a mouse in the restaurant, I cannot recommend staying here. There are far better hotels in Penang that actually meet basic standards of cleanliness. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND!

Great, everything works. Only inconvenience to note if u book the same room under 2 different reservations, u need to reactivate your room cards for the next booking. We stayed over 3 nights. Booked 2 nights with breakfast & 1 without breakfast coz of an early flight. We had to reactivate the cards even though it’s for the same room, under the same name.

My usual hotel in Penang . Convenient . Room is clean overall but I have to say the hotel is getting a little older . Some of fixes can be a little more well thought to honest but overall still a comfortable stay . It used to be a vip property under hotels.com so it’s a pity the partnership of that has ceased

Beautiful old style colonial hotel located in UNESCO listed Georgetown. Great choice of food and beverage options and close to many diverse and nice eateries outside of the hotel. Highly recommended

It was a really nice stay exactly as we hoped for! The location on the beach was beautiful and the villa had all the comforts of home. Was conveniently located within short car ride to Georgetown. Also the bag of ice in the freezer for drinks was a nice touch!
