So first impression on the room wasn’t to favorable. Had medication that needed to be refrigerated, could Not get the fridge open. Tried to call front desk, phone didn’t work. So we went back downstairs (after a very long delayed flight, we weren’t really in the mood ). So the front desk said nothing they could do but if it made us a feel better they had complaint’s before. Then the bartender Lily, came up and said let’s get this resolved. She went upstairs with us and pulled the fridge right out of its cabinet, which actually helped and it worked. We just had to live around it being in the middle of the floor. There was zero space for clothes, no dresser, undersized side tables. The shower had mold In the grout and edges. But the beds were clean and comfortable and we made do. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, same things everyday. The restaurant on the other hand was not good at all. Ordered two burgers that came raw. No one came back to check so we tried to eat them. Didn’t work. When person did come we were told that’s the way they are served. So we still were charged for $30 for something inedible. The pool was great, the fact you couldn’t use towels for the beach was a bummer. But the area is perfect and just a few hiccups. Like I said we managed. I would return but with a scrub brush for the tub walls.

The hotel exceeded our expectations by far: awsome staff- very friendly and immediate accomodations on any request,great location close to metro, free parking,room and furniture design alike at5+ stars resort, good variety and high quality of food at breakfast, spotless clean room! Special thank you for Carlos who helped us. His sense of humor made our days every time we are in/out of hotel. thank you all! amazing stay!

This is our second time back to the Palacio do Freixo, and it is the most fantastic and elegant place. The hotel and grounds are palatial, but the staff and service is the key to the elegance of our stay and experience there. I’m so regretful that I cannot recall the name of the man at the front desk who checked us in, but he was so extraordinarily helpful and professional, getting us reservations for a river cruise. We have the highest recommendations for the hotel, and our stay was elegant beyond belief. The bellman who took up our bags to the room had been there last year to help us as well, and was so high end and professional.

Lovely property but the hallway is really long, ok for young people but not for anyone with mobility issues. Noisy in the early morning because of construction next door. Staff is really terrific and good court next door is great for lunch, drinks or a casual dinner.

Great location Clean, near attractions Nice staff very helpful
