Barlavento Islands All inclusive Holidays

If you're thinking of staying here, I would say DON'T. This hotel is NOT 5* nor is it a 4. I would say it's a 3 at a push. We arrived just after 3pm and the room was not ready. The initial room we were given was 513 and the air conditioning did not work. That night, I suffered 100 mosquito bites. No joke. Not even lying. We went down to reception to ask if they would look at the a/c and they sent a maintenance man up to have a look. He said it was fixed when he changed it from 'cool' to 'fan'. This did not work and the room was still like a sauna. Asked again for someone to look at the unit where this time, 2 men turned up and said it needed gas. It doesn't need gas, it needs a whole new system! Wasn't happy as this a/c still wasn't working either so they upgraded us to a villa. The 1st villa, guess what? The a/c didn't workl! Finally, room 433 had working a/c. This room was bigger but it also came with ants in the bed. I get this is a tropical country but really?? The lamps didn't work, the TV had 4 channels and the batteries in thee rmotes had seen better days. I've ve come away lost weight, but also going home with diabetes and high blood pressure.

So disappointed: 1. Not enough su beda and people reserving them for HOURS and never actually using them. Change your hotel policy so sun beda cant be reserved. Simple. 2. Food was awful. Edible but just such poor quality. Clesrly clrners have been cut to keep costs down. Such a shame. 3. No smoke alarms in rooms and all the fkre extinquishers we saw were completely rushed anf useless. Not great at all! 4. Music by the pool. Dear GOD no one needs to hear Desposito 3 tomes in a row at a thousand decibels. Horrible loud, not at all relaxing. 5. Room was average. Meh. Overall experience was totally meh. I guess all inclusive just isn't for us. We spent rest of trip in Sal Rei town and it was wonderful. Boa Vista wad such a fantastic experience. Just don't stay here if you have exacting standards!
