Cova da Beira Adults Only Holidays

The check-in process was a bit unusual (at least for a north-american like myself), in that the room is several blocks away from the reception- they email you when the room is ready and how to access the building with a code. So be sure to have a way of receiving email while you wait. My own check-in was awkward because when i got there i was informed the AC wasn't working and they were attempting to repair. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so that day. They promised the next day it would be fixed, but something came up with the maintenance person so it was on the third day it was finally fixed (just in time for the heat wave). The room itself was quite nice. It included a fridge, stovetop, sink, tv, small table with a couple chairs, bathroom and a comfy bed. Immediately outside is Clerigos Tower, and a lot of good restaurants and touristy stuff nearby. You can hear noise from the hallway, but street noise was very limited, so overall pretty quiet. Aside from the initial check-in / AC issues, it was a very good experience.

The location is great and it is close to all the landmarks in Porto. The room is clean, but the kitchen is small. The space is a bit small to cater for 4 people, and the window could not be opened. Since the location is brilliant, the overall experience is still very good.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like valued guests. The staff took time to answer all our questions, explain the history of the property, and help with any thing we might have needed help with. This place is luxurious! From the marble shower, dreamy comfy beds, and spiralling staircases, we felt so spoiled. The daily breakfast was incredible, featuring local jams, breads, and chef's creations, and a wonderful way to start our day.

Beautiful property right in a heart of Porto! Spacious rooms with gorgeous architectural details, directly across from most famous outdoor Bolhão market. Walking distance to a lot of historical spots as well as the Douro riverfront. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and very helpful with suggestions. The room included a parlor with pullout couch - perfect if traveling with small kids, spacious and bright bedroom/living room space, fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer!
