This is my third time staying at this hotel. Shuguang Hotel is situated next to Xuanwu Lake, offering views of Nanjing's towering skyline through the windows; the night view is quite beautiful. The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from the subway station and Nanjing Railway Station. Although the architectural style feels a bit dated, the guest rooms are spacious, bright, and comfortable, featuring clean, fresh bedding. Soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a quiet environment, though the sound of street traffic can occasionally be heard in the early morning. The buffet breakfast is delicious, offering a wide variety of dishes with a menu that changes daily. I particularly appreciate the complimentary self-service laundry facilities, which are clean and well-equipped. The lobby reception staff are well-trained, and the housekeeping team is professional and courteous; the breakfast staff and chefs are also enthusiastic, proactive, and friendly.

Beautifully designed hotel but maintenance and cleanliness is an issue. Water pressure is too low, no hooks for towels, bathroom is too dark. The hotel staff needs to learn to deal with international customers as no one spoke to me in English. All in all good but many issues…

The Grand Mansion is very conveniently located next to the President’s Palace and Six Dynasties Museum. We even got free museum admissions from the hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. Hotel stuff was very accommodating and helpful. We did not get to use the amenities due to our tight schedule. But the services we used were excellent. Highly recommended.
