Our stay here was amazing. We were a little worried because we weren't sure how we were going to get from the port on Zamami island to the hostel, but there was a van waiting to pick us up! Our room was traditional tia mat Japanese style but the cushions were very comfortable. There are free bikes available to go into town, which is just a 5 minute bike ride or 15 minute walk. The host is absolutely wonderful. Seriously the nicest human being we met during our travels in Japan.
We ended up exploring the island a lot on bikes and even rented snorkeling gear from our dive house for 10 bucks. The beach that is only 5 minutes away has lots of coral, cool fish, and even sea turtles! We saw one while we were snorkeling! The dive house also offers dinner and breakfast (not sure the cost), but we rode into town to the many restaurants. The meals were delicious and reasonably priced for an island.
All in all I would totally recommend staying here. When my girlfriend came down with the flu, the host was constantly checking on us giving us medicine and making sure everything was okay. It's basically like staying with your dear sweet mother!
