The interior design was well themed and felt luxurious. The family running this hotel were extremely kind and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. House keeping was offered everyday. Would love to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone else visiting Sun Moon Lake!

We loved our stay here for many reasons: - Rooms felt new, and were clean and spacious - Great location, walkable to Ita Thao pier - The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, and we were easily able to communicate through my wife's Chinese and google translate. They provided different, very good breakfasts on each of the two days we were there. There is no laundry in the hotel but there was a laundromat close by.

A friendly and clean family run hotel
It's conveniently located. It is a walking distance to the night market where lots of shops and food stands are. The hotel offers free guest parking. Rooms are clean and spacious. Our room has the lake view and a hot tub next to the window with the great view. The breakfast is good. The check-in and check-out are very easy. We enjoyed our stay very much. However the WiFi connection is not reliable.

The rooms was nice and clean and the breakfast was great. But the reason you should book a room here is the staff, who even tho the don’t speak English, managed to tell us about the places to go, help us rent bikes and by boat tickets.

Good value for the price
A clean, comfortable family run hotel with European decor. Decent mostly Western breakfast, with limited seating and time (7:30-9). Our room had a nice, somewhat distant view of the lake from the 8th floor. Parking available but a bit inconvenient. Very friendly, helpful staff. Happy to recommend this place!

Rustic feel, manager very kind. He also provides discounts for different attractions and good ideas for tourists. Rooms very neat and clean. Mattress was a little on the harder side and breakfasts were nice but the same each day.

5mins walk to the night market. 3mins walk to the pickup point for Round the Lake bus. This is a strategic location. Breakfast was superb and room is spacious. If you would like a better view though, request the higher floors.

My absolute favourite hotel and favourite town in two weeks of touring Taiwan. Four nights was not enough - I will be back. The rooms had inspirational character and style. The timber even smelt amazing. The screen door on balcony was appreciated so air con could be turned off. And the breakfast was the best of any hotels. Note it is not a buffet so a bit of a lucky dip. Vegetarians catered for on request.

Great location within walkable distance to the Ita Thao pier for boat rides, main shopping district and cable car. We had a room with a view which was great! The room was very clean and had a lot of character.

It was close to the pier and night shopping. Even though my Mandarin is extremely limited, the staff patiently worked with me through Google Translate. It was very quiet. Probably because it was during the week and there were no major celebrations.

Great B & B
Hotel owner is very friendly and helpful. This hotel has a feel of B & B. Woodwork throughout the room has a very aromatic cedar smell. Quick walk to the harbor and rope tram. It includes a filling breakfast so you can be on the go in the morning. The soaking tub is an excellent bonus.

Lovely place to stay in Sun Moon Lake
This hotel was a great surprise. We didn't have much expectations given the location on Road 21, but we were inpressed by the warm welcome from the manager, and the nice, large and well equipped room. A lot of cedar wood was used in the construction, giving a very pleasant smell to the whole building. The breakfast (a set plate with salad, fruit, meat, bread) was quite tasty. Given how pricey rooms can be in Sun Moon Lake, this hotel offers very competitive rates . All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

Minutes walk from food and shops
The owner was very friendly who provided tips on what-to-do's around the area. The room was nice and comfortable. Given that most shops don't stay open late, it is definitely recommended to find a nicer hotel in Sun Moon Lake so that you have a good rest!

Amazing rooms in this beautiful hotel
I absolutely loved my stay at the Sun Moon Lake Youngquan Hotel and the room was just such a pleasant surprise. Really spacious and so beautiful so my only regret was that I only had one night here. The breakfast was really delicious and the hotel is in easy walking distance to all the attractions at Sun Moon Lake. The staff did not speak much English but tried their best to help using Google translate - can only highly recommend this place.

An artisan's hotel
The owner had a hand in all aspects of the hotel unique design. It does not look much looking the lobby but it has a lot of luxury built into the hotel. Next to the lobby was a tea and coffee area where the owner serves top of the line tea and coffee complimentary. All to make guest feel pampered.

This hotel was very unique and clean. The location is nice as it is just a block away from the main part of the city so it is still quiet. It has a nice view from the room, the breakfast is just enough and still light, and most importantly the staff is extremely hospitable. They were very nice and wanted to make sure you are taken care of, even after we checked out.

I booked this hotel on Expedia and I don't think the pictures do it justice. The family that runs the hotel was very helpful. Their English wasn't very good but they still were able to help us with everything we needed. This is a very small town and the hotel is located a couple of blocks away from the busier tourist parts so it's nice and quiet. We regretfully missed the breakfast so I can't speak to that. This hotel is gorgeous. Very craftsman-like. The wood smell is great in the room. The bed is hard but in a good way (I think it's just a thin mattress on a wood board).

Excellent hotel stay!
Probably the best hotel I've been to in my years of travel. Would definitely recommend any traveler to experience a stay of your lifetime. Well pampered by the hospitality of the family who runs the hotel by themselves. Awesome breakfast too that you wouldn't want to miss for any scenery in Taiwan.

Lovely family run hotel in Ita Thao
Youngquan is a great hotel, made extra special by the lovely family that run it and took care of us during our stay. We had such a great time and always felt at home thanks to being greeted with smiles, offered tea and coffee, and helped in sorting out logistics like bike hire and onward transport. The location is perfect for those staying in Ita Thao which we felt was the nicer side of the river and convenient for cycling and walking. The rooms are huge, with a great separate living area for relaxing in the evenings and everything was super clean.

A comfortable small hotel run by a friendly young gentlemen who makes your stay memorable. The owner's help little services goes a long way eg. bringing us to view the firefly in the evening and provide personal transportation services from Ita Shao to Suishe when we check out and it was raining heavily.The room is well designed and bedding comfortable. A good hotel within its own class in the Sun Moon Lake Locality.

Wood Paneled Homey Hotel w Warm Accomodating Owner
Located 5mins (walk) from the Itathao Visitor Center and Lake port, this homey wood panelled hotel stands out with its nicely done interiors (not cheesy romantic as most in the area), rooms are spacious and well appointed. The owners man the reception desk, and their limited English speaking proficiency is compensated by their mobile translator and helpfulness in arrangements. We were a group of 9 who stayed for 2days (too short to fully experience Sun Moon Lake) after coming down Mt Syue. They stayed up late till 10pm to meet us and even gave one of our friends a motor ride to the laundry to show where it was. A substantial plated breakfast (salad, breads, meats and egg + fresh delicious orange juice, coffee and tea) is served at the 8F with beautiful views of the mountain. The beds are comfortable and there is even a sitting area in the room reminiscent of Japanese tea houses overlooking the mountain. There are several cabinets for storage and plenty of floor space perfect for airing and drying damp mountain gear.
