The property has some unique features for a 1 bedroom, city centre apartment. There is a separate study room that's perfect for any remote working or catching up on emails when having a break from taking in the sights of York. The apartment bedroom features a double bed plus wardrobes and drawers. The lounge, kitchen and dining space is very light and airy and a comfortable place to spend time in. There is also an excellent private patio area right outside the lounge. A real rarity for a 1 bed property within the city centre. The bathroom features a bath with shower over. Odd window arrangement resulted in poor ventilation and in our view, a certain lack of privacy. It was a shame the large lounge window did not open as it would have made a difference to the courtyard experience, namely not having to go through the front door and round. We thought it was unsafe to leave the bedroom windows open and had to use the fan at night. In really hot weather the apartment is likely to be extremely hot!! Soundproofing between the apartment and the upper floor was poor and the appliance direction leaflets could do with weeding out and updating. For instance the wifi code was wrong, the gate code on some sheets differed and we ended up googling the coffe machine instructions. Museum gardens is pretty much on your door step- feed the squirrels on the way to the shambles. Or a quick walk over the bridge to train station. You don’t need a car here because location is so central but if you do there is a free designated parking spot in the complex which is a real test in York. Although positioned close to the centre of the city it is very quiet. The entrance to the complex is via electronically controlled gates which means the mews is completely secure. It's great to have free and safe parking included too! The apartment has all the amenities you could wish for, however we both felt that the bathroom basin and bath would benefit from a deep clean and the outlets thoroughly cleared as they are slow to drain. The location is amazing, the Museum's Gardens are literally on the door step and perfect for a walk along the river or a stroll in the old town. There a small Sainsbury's within walking distance too. The apartment is well equipped, and just the perfect size with some outdoor seating too. It's a residential area so very quiet and allocated parking space is a real bonus (especially in York!). There were a couple of spots with accumulated dust and the kitchen extraction could do with a deep clean (being a returning visitor our expectations were very high!) but apart from that the apartment was clean and very pleasant.
