The quality and thoughtfulness of the dishes are complimented superbly by sommelier So-san's wonderful service and exquisite selection of world-class wine. The room and hotel conditions were good but nothing extraordinary. The staff are friendly and they helped to reserve the Nikka distillery tour for us (which is free!). One of the best surprises is the restaurant. We had the multi-course tasting menu (included in our room charge) pair with wines from Hokkaido. The distillery tour and the dinner were definitely some of the highlights during our 3 weeks trip in Japan. The only problem was there is no elevator but the staff are happy to help.
