Cley Hall Hotel

"My room was a lovely suite with its own kitchen and sofa. I think furniture lay out could be changed so you could watch TV from the sofa rather than just the bed. My TV didn’t work the first night but the staff fixed it the second night, and offered me another room if they couldn’t. Breakfast was nice and lots of choice. Hot food cooked fresh. The hotel is more central than I thought so easy to walk into town along the river or even to the large garden centre. A big downside is my room was in the annex on the ground floor with the car park right outside. I had to keep the curtains closed as cars and people were directly outside my window."

"Receptionist was welcoming, helpful and cheerful. Light continental Breakfast was fine. Bathroom shower head scaled and didn’t function properly, so I rubbed a deodorant lid over it to break up the scale then it worked fine. There was signs of mould around the shower. On arrival room was very cold. Turned on the panel heater in room and took 90 mins to reach 20c"

"Very welcoming and helpful host. Compact accommodation with simple arrangement for Continental Breakfast in room. Property well sited for walking into Stanford. Restaurant not available for evening meals during our stay, but appeared to have interesting menu based on Portuguese style cooking."

"Good value for a few nights needed for work. The hotel needs updating. Good car park and fairly easy to locate. Needed to go and ask Reception for more milk supplies as no one came in to check the room. I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was good. Disappointed that it was closed on the Friday evening."

"This was a 1-night stay for work. I would not normally stay in hotels at service areas, but this has pleasantly surprised me. The room (139) was on the ground floor and was spacious. Shower and toilet were separate from the basin, which did not bother me. TV and WiFi was good. Bed was comfortable, pillows could have been firmer (personal choice). Shower was okay. There was a large desk area to work at. Value wise it was great for the money. As it was in the service area there were a large number of choices of places to eat at, as well as food being served in the hotel."
