    Wonderful quirky self catering, B&B Yarm cottages ideal for a weekend away, hen parties, stag do’s, wedding accommodation, contractors digs or just to get away. A fabulously quirky venue offering a romantic hideaway.

    We have various cottages sleeping 2 people to cottages sleeping 4 people. Also have cottages available that sleep 5 persons up to cottages sleeping 6 to 8 people and now we can offer a cottage that caters for up to 12 people. We are also very pet friendly and we understand you don’t want to leave your four legged friends behind.

    All of our self catering B&B Yarm Cottages have a shower room whilst the practical kitchen area is perfect to prepare a tasty breakfast or a packed lunch or you can try the pub next door – Fox Covert if you don’t fancy cooking the food is all homemade and is lush and also dog friendly too which is a 1 minute walk serving between 11am – 10pm.
    The self catering cottages are perfect for exploring the countryside as there are wonderful walks and also cycle paths in all directions as well as a couple of excellent pubs and restaurants in Yarm High Street. These unique self-catering, Bed and Breakfast Yarm holiday homes are comfortable and usual – affordable and fabulous countryside – a perfect base for your holiday with lots of local amenities and fun places to go.

Lovely, quaint cottage. Comfortably. Just a ten minute drive from Yarm high street. The pub next door is very handy and great pub food and sandwiches.

On arrival, getting the keys was a simple process, however, as soon as we got in, we could see the setup was unusual. Yes there are 3 "bedroom", or at least 3 separate areas with beds. However, one of them is a living / dining / kitchenette area, with a double bed in there as well. There wasn't any running hot water, even after asking the host, who said "you need to run the tap really slow", which we did for over 20 minutes - still cold. There was a modicum of heat in the water the next morning, but we were still having to boil the kettle every time to fill the bowl. Absolutely no chance of filling either of the 2 baths! The glasses on the shelf were disgusting, covered in dust and muck internally and externally as well as leftover "stuff" which had gone mouldy. There was tea, coffee, sugar and milk capsules supplied, but not enough for the maximum 6 people and we kept having to go and ask for more. The beds were comfortable enough, however, the noise and sounds coming through the paper thin walls from the adjacent sex party, that went on till 4 o'clock in the morning was quite ridiculous. The location is excellent and right next door to the "Fox Covert Inn". They don't have many tables, so I would recommend reserving, we were lucky and managed to get the last table. The food is slightly pricey, but was absolutely fantastic - highly recommend the sharing starter platter. I would definitely go back to the pub. I definitely won't be revisiting the cottages.

Don’t go unless it’s had a deep clean/renovation

We booked this place very last minute as we was due to go camping but it was raining all week. I told the owner we had someone disabled and a baby before we arrived (as well as a child). When we arrived the location was lovely and the cottage looked very cosy in pictures and from outside. However inside was a different story! Considering we went whilst extra precautions are meant to be in place with COVID the place was filthy. There was dust, cobwebs, utensils was unclean, the bath had hairs in and the list could go on and on! In the cottage you are provided with towels, dishes etc and one tea towel absolutely smelt disgusting! We told the owner when she just walked in (no knock on the door or anything) and she said “sorry I was rushing around and it’s probably the one I cleaned with”. Now in usual circumstances this is VERY unhygienic but in a time when there is a worldwide pandemic I think is totally unacceptable! I’ve been a housekeeper myself and there is a basic level of cleanliness (even if that is not your job) to adhere to which isn’t that hard! Normally I would never write such a review because it is this ladies personal accommodation and I really wouldn’t want to tarnish a business in anyway. But after trying to contact her with evidence of how unclean the place was (and that is putting it extremely politely) we have had no reply. Which I think is utterly rude. It could have been kept a private issue and not put as an awful review. But when you are left with no other option due to the owners ignorance I think this poor review is very well deserved. And please no matter how desperate you are (we was very desperate to still go somewhere as a family for the children’s sake) DO NOT book here!
