The Hayloft was such a lovely place to stay. It was cosy with everything you needed. The log burner made it extra cosy. The welcoming gifts were a lovely surprise. Laura and her family couldn't have been more helpful. We really didn't want to leave
We stayed as a couple (with a dog) and couldn't have asked for a nicer house or a friendlier welcome. We loved the log burner and the walk along the Tees river to the cafe at Pierce bridge.
We stayed for the entire month of July and enjoyed it immensely. Hayloft was very well fired out and extremely comfortable. Very convenient to get down to the Yorkshire Dales & Moors ( Richmond, Thirsk, Leyburn, Ripon, etc.) or up to Bamburg Castle, Alnwick Castle, Lindisfarne/Holy Island, etc. We definitely recommend it!

Delightful countryside escape
My fiance had a very peaceful and relaxing time here.
Located on a working farm it was very quiet and peaceful, yet we had Hens and cats and a very friendly Dog passing by our front window, with a wonderful bedroom window view of the fields. The split level room is ideal for a romantic getaway, with a well equipped kitchen for self catering, and a luxury bedroom upstairs. The nearby towns of Darlington and Barnard Castle were close enough for small excursions, and we enjoyed meeting Sue and her husband Michael who are the perfect hosts. Wi Fi internet was fast enough for doing emails and using social sites. The cold weather made no difference to our stay, as the place was always warm and very cosy.
ps. The scones were delicious - and a welcome treat, with a very nice red wine too. We would definitely return !
We had a lovely short break, really surprised how nice the accomodation was, everything we wanted was supplied, decor and furniture lovely, view from the rooms fantastic. Super warm with the log burner and the most enormous bed we've slept in. Great to walk the dogs in the nearby field, looking forward to returning next year. Ten out of ten.
We wanted a place to get away from it all and the Hayloft provides that. Glass of wine sitting on the small secluded patio under a wonderful old walnut tree....
Excellent holiday retreat from the hamper on arrival, informative leaflets on the local area to the farm animals that our dog loved to play around with. Very quiet but close to local amenities great for a qetaway.
Stayed in Hayloft cottage which is warm, comfortable and very well appointed. Super comfortable bed!
First visit to this part of the country and made to fell very welcome.
Hope we can stay longer next time!
We found the property to be of very good quality. It was comfortable and well equipped.
