"We wanted to take a family trip. Family being myself, my wife, our dog, my adult kids, their significant others and friends who would be meeting us separately (traveling from Miami and NY). We wanted a chill, relaxing summer vacation either in Maine or North Carolina as we had spent many summers there and like the vibe, pace and weather. We live in Fort Lauderdale and summers are hot and humid. Traveling up the coast gives us a break from the weather, a change of scenery and a chance to chill with everyone in an amazing setting. After a bit of searching we decided on Blowing Rock as the destination. And from there we decided that a lakefront home would have the views and setting we wanted. We found this home and booked a two-week stay. And from the moment we got there until departure, we had the best time. The kids loved it. Our dog loved it. Our visiting friends loved it. It was the perfect home to celebrate all being together. The process was simple (this was our first experience with VRBO, so we didn't know what to expect, but it was, by all accounts, a flawless experience. Thank you Maile for your hospitality. Everyone is already asking when we are going back!"

"This was an amazing place to stay! I didn’t realize I had a 1-bedroom unit and that was awesome. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units with a fireplace! Full kitchen, clean, quiet, and location was perfect in Banner Elk. My new go-to mountain retreat-away-from home!"

"Really good location. Close to Sugar Mountain and a short drive to Banner elk. Great communication with the host! We had a little trouble with the door code getting in, but it was quickly resolved. Had everything we needed for our three nights stay. It was such a nice bonus having the air conditioning in the rooms for sleeping at night and not having to sleep with the sliding glass doors open."
