"My large family so enjoyed our time at this lovely lodge. The common areas were quite large and beautifully furnished. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances, necessary cooking tools, plates and utensils. The bedrooms were tasteful and there were enough for all of us! Ample towels and tissue paper were provided in the bathrooms, which was very nice. The bit of laundry we did was super easy in the 2 washers and 2 dryers. There are so many amenities, as described in the booking material. I particularly loved the extensive front porch as it felt so private, and I also was captivated, for some reason, with the expansive sloping back yard. Many of us took walks around the rural neighborhood and also up the ski trail. Mike is an excellent, responsive host. We are going again next year!"

"We've been vacationing in this area for 15 years, and I am big on reading reviews of others and typically stay in different places even in the same area to find the 'best' one. I would 100% stay here again. It was clean, very comfortable, kids loved it, tucked away but close to stuff (windy road, but not a big deal in my opinion). Pac-Man game was a hit with my partner :). Very well-appointed kitchen, plenty of towels and linens, very comfortable beds. Loved the back porch, host was very gracious and responsive. Laundry and dishwasher were bonuses. Wish the creek was more babbling, but can't control NC drought. This was SUCH a nice house and we would definitely return."

"Wonderful 1848 cabin with log walls and wood floors, a little crooked but remember when it was built. Everything updated inside in kitchen, bathrooms and comfortable furniture. Lots of dishes, pots/ pans etc for cooking. We spent our early mornings and evenings on the swing on the screened in porch and enjoying visits with the deer and rabbits. The location was great for everything and every place we wanted to visit. Great trout pond for fishing in walking distance of the cabin. They will clean and filet your catch. We baked them and they were delicious. We have rented many cabins/ homes through vrbo but this was the most interesting and historical. We loved it and Shelley was a great host."

"This lodge is amazing! We had a family of 11 to include adult children and young grandchildren. We all thoroughly enjoyed this place. There's plenty of places to sleep, plenty of counter space in the kitchen, most kitchen necessities to cook big meals. The game room was a hit, the hook and ring game on the deck was a fan favorite! The only thing we would have liked a little different is a larger gathering space for the whole crowd. The living room is smaller so it only accommodated half of us. The game room all the way downstairs wasn't much bigger with not a lot of extra seating. It ended up working out fine for all the moving around everyone did but that would be the only down side. We enjoyed the lodge and the town of Foscoe is great, the produce stand, the breakfast eatery. Well worth the drive!"
