"My large family so enjoyed our time at this lovely lodge. The common areas were quite large and beautifully furnished. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances, necessary cooking tools, plates and utensils. The bedrooms were tasteful and there were enough for all of us! Ample towels and tissue paper were provided in the bathrooms, which was very nice. The bit of laundry we did was super easy in the 2 washers and 2 dryers. There are so many amenities, as described in the booking material. I particularly loved the extensive front porch as it felt so private, and I also was captivated, for some reason, with the expansive sloping back yard. Many of us took walks around the rural neighborhood and also up the ski trail. Mike is an excellent, responsive host. We are going again next year!"

"We had a great experience at this property! The sleeping arrangements were comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. We especially loved the large porch and close proximity to the river. Definitely recommend!"

"The property and cabin were beautiful! The owners had great communication and made check-in easy. It was a great location between Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. There is a lot of hiking and fishing in the area. We look forward to returning, maybe for a winter trip."

"We've been vacationing in this area for 15 years, and I am big on reading reviews of others and typically stay in different places even in the same area to find the 'best' one. I would 100% stay here again. It was clean, very comfortable, kids loved it, tucked away but close to stuff (windy road, but not a big deal in my opinion). Pac-Man game was a hit with my partner :). Very well-appointed kitchen, plenty of towels and linens, very comfortable beds. Loved the back porch, host was very gracious and responsive. Laundry and dishwasher were bonuses. Wish the creek was more babbling, but can't control NC drought. This was SUCH a nice house and we would definitely return."

"This was by far the best property we have rented. So many nice touches. Really enjoyed the entire experience. Nice hot tub and fire pit, excellent supply of essentials and non-essentials (who would think to supply a wine chiller?). The theme was followed throughout and the workmanship was obviously first rate. We will be back. Beds were super comfortable and the cabin was spotless."

"Wonderful 1848 cabin with log walls and wood floors, a little crooked but remember when it was built. Everything updated inside in kitchen, bathrooms and comfortable furniture. Lots of dishes, pots/ pans etc for cooking. We spent our early mornings and evenings on the swing on the screened in porch and enjoying visits with the deer and rabbits. The location was great for everything and every place we wanted to visit. Great trout pond for fishing in walking distance of the cabin. They will clean and filet your catch. We baked them and they were delicious. We have rented many cabins/ homes through vrbo but this was the most interesting and historical. We loved it and Shelley was a great host."
