It was beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable. The onsen baths were great. The food was outstanding. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and polite. Our visit was no nice that we were very sad to leave. Matsudaya was everything we could have hoped for in a traditional onsen ryokan. Make sure to enjoy the garden. We chose the traditional Japanese breakfast at the inn. Absolutely delicious. Many wonderful restaurants nearby for dinner, if you choose to explore outside the inn.
