Located at the base of the impressive Montana Roja, an extinct(!) volcano - the villa is within walking distance of the gorgeous Playa Flamingo beach and coastline promenade leading in to Playa Blanca town centre, complete with stunning views over the Atlantic towards Fuerteventura. Please see our previous guest reviews... \--- Outdoors: An electrically heated pool (8.4m x 3.8m) with large terrace, well-planted gardens, al fresco dining and BBQ area is contained within heightened walls for your total privacy and relaxation. Bedrooms 1&3, Lounge and Kitchen doors all lead to the pool area, making it the central point of the villa and (plus making it easy to keep an eye on the kids, should you need to). Capturing the sun all day, the area is complete with sun loungers for 6 people and a shaded outdoor area by the poolside. Colourful night lighting adds the final touch to your day, should you want to take a late-night dip or stay home to eat, drink and relax. Lounge & Living: Offers high speed WiFi, 55" Philips Smart-TV with Ambilight™ (Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime etc) with full satellite package including Sky Sports, Freeview, International channels and more. There is also a printer for any last minute boarding passes etc should you prefer paper versions. There is a small library of books from us and our previous guests - feel free to swap one! You'll also find a portable Bluetooth speaker, so you can be in charge of the poolside / dinnertime soundtrack. Kitchen & Dining: The kitchen is very well equipped, offering an Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Tassimo Coffee Machine, Kettle, Toaster, Blender, Juicer and of course all the expected Utensils and Crockery. For nearby attractions, there are 2 waterparks within 15 mins walking distance, as well as Montana Roja itself, which makes for a great hike which takes around 1.5h and has stunning views over Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the Atlantic Ocean. For cardio enthusiasts, a lap or 2 jogging around the crater makes for a unique workout! Activities like Mini Golf, Jet Ski Rental, Parasailing, Banana Boating, Beach Bars, Karaoke and Night Spots etc are all within short taxi ride, at Playa Dorada beach. Taxis can be called directly to the villa (usually arriving within 2 minutes!), or the taxi rank is located 5 mins away. Taxis are cheap and highly available (around €4-5 gets you in to the centre). For those who prefer to walk. The selection of bars and restaurants along the promenade under tropical palm trees makes it idyllic, day or night. Bit of a walk down to the bars and restaurants but if you’re not one for walking there’s a taxi rank not far from the villa and also a bus stop: a 20 minute walk the other way and you’re at Lidl which was a nice bonus this year. We didn’t use busses as we hired a car but there were bus stops nearby. As first timers to Lanzarote we didn’t know for sure which area suited us… The villa at playa Blanca was in a quiet setting not far from restaurants and shops. However, next to a very noisy road which took away the pleasure of spending the day by the pool. The area was very quiet and peaceful making for a relaxing vacation. It had a full Sky package including all the sports channels , and a lovely big pool. The pool was a bit cold and with leaves but that was quickly resolved thanks to the maintenance staff. The only main problem was with the bathrooms - in one, the shower wasn’t working properly and in one, the water heater was noisy so we had trouble getting to sleep until the noise would stop. However, despite the small problems, the villa was spacious and clean as expected and so overall I give it 4/5! ##### Vikas G. The instructions from the owners were perfect and we arrived smoothly. Pool amazing, cleaned twice a week during our stay, linen changed once. It is about 20 min walk to Playa Flamingo beach and then 10 min further to some bars and restaurants then 5 mins to the beginning of the promenade. Literally a little supermarket 5 mins from the villa. Graham and Gail amazing, really friendly and helpful.
