It is a cosy cottage with a good feel and is fully equipped to a high standard and has a wood burning stove in the living room. Ideal for visiting Woodstock, Blenheim Palace, Oxford,Stratford Upon Avon and Soho Farmhouse and London. It sleeps 4 in a king size bedroom and twin bedroom with a large bathroom. The entrance hall was once the oven leading into a living room with french windows onto a large courtyard. The kitchen dining area has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Outside is a terraced area with a table, chairs and a bar-b-q. and views across the countryside. Fresh crisp white linen and towels are provided as well as kitchen cloths. The village of Stonesfield is quaint and well located to explore the Cotswolds and surrounding area. My children, ages 9 and 10 loved it, especially the well-tended garden area. It was the town bakery until the owner purchased it and converted it into the perfect Cotswolds cottage. Exposed beams, original floors, claw foot tub in the bathroom, and amazing views. We arrived late at the cottage and Ros had it all warm and the lights on and everything we needed was there. It is very authentic, yet warm and cozy. The story of the Old Bakehousue is sweet and the amenities are lovely. We enjoyed having breakfast in the sweet kitchen before going out for the day. We ate in Woodstock, only 10 minutes away, and one night we picked up pizza and brought it home so we could enjoy the awesome fireplace. There were lots of games to play and movies to watch. It was the perfect jumping off stop to explore Oxford and the Costwolds. We had a drive from North Cotswold Tours pick us up at the cottage and drive us around for the day. Robin was awesome and we recommend that as an outing if you are interested in that area. We would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and would love to stay there again. We loved our stay at the Old Bakehouse for endless reasons! The home and town feel to be straight out of a movie with lovely furnishings, and glorious bedding. It is perfectly appointed with all that is needed for an enjoyable stay. We feel we have a friend in Ros, were rescued by Ian (one of the Stonesfield townspeople) when our rental car agency in Oxford was closed (our advice: go through EuroCar instead of Budget!), and enjoyed the White Horse, a local pub. We found ourselves throughout our daily travels in the Cotswolds longing to be among the authenticity in Stonesfield. We missed our chance to see local archeological treasures and walk the local paths and look forward to a return stay!
