Checkin was unmanned but it was very easy. You just take your booklet which is pinned ot the board with your name on. This gives you access to your pod key which is secured outside your pod. only stayed one night, friendly attentive staff, 15 minute walk to the centre for the shopping, restaurant and bar areas. We will certainly be booking again soon but next time for a 3 day break

I love the design of the Indigo hotels and this one is no different. Staff very friendly. Location good with lots of bars, restaurants and independent shops nearby. (The Spanish restaurant across the road is really friendly as we popped in for a glass of fizz. ) would definitely recommend it

Fantastic accommodation in a perfect location. Fran & Jamie are most welcoming and attentive to all needs. Our room was spotlessly clean & tastefully furnished. There were two mince pies left in our room for us on arrival, a lovely festive gesture. Breakfast was delicious, absolutely anything you could ask for, along with freshly baked bread of which the aroma filled the Hotel first thing in the morning. Stayed with my husband for our Wedding Anniversary and it was amazing. The Hotel knew this and left us a lovely note and some chocolates in our room for when we arrived, what a lovely surprise. We went to the Spa for a swim and sauna, we almost fell asleep on the beds we were so relaxed.

We have read other reviews regarding this hotel some of them not very complimentary frankly they are obviously deranged. Our experience was excellent, the hotel was clean, the rooms comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. A near perfect stay at Delta hotels. The food, staff and pool were perfect. The only minus was the room’s bathroom which desperately needs an upgrade. Otherwise a great hotel next to the racecourse with a beautiful walk down the river into York. Would definitely come back.

We had a lovely stay at Marmadukes. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and when we had a problem with our room we were moved straight away without any fuss. It's a beautiful building and in a great location from which to discover York. Would definitely recommend!
