Lucked into the last room at the Kintla Lodge and I’m glad I did. Excellent property at the top of Big Mountain, right in the thick of the activities on the hilltop. I was a late check-in, but they made sure security was waiting with the key to let me in. Great views, comfortable rooms, quiet and an overall awesome stay. The service by the front desk (when I was making my reservation) and check-in was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, if a tiny bit small. I'm not sure if it's normal, but we didn't get any housekeeping during our two-night stay. It's fine if you brought enough shampoo, but you only get one packet of coffee, then you have to buy more at the market. The staff was wonderful, we loved our condo, it had anything and everything a person could want to make your stay very comfortable. A deer came up right outside the hot tub area in the back of the condo and hung around a while. I would go back there gladly! Thank you Kintla lodge for a memorable experience that was great! If you're not really into that then you probably wouldn't like it too much. Bed wasn't very comfortable. However, overall it was definitely worth it. There was construction going on outside and it started at 630 ash in the morning. The hot tub is small, and okay, not great. The room had a patio, and the chairs had to be cleaned before we could sit on them. If you are visiting glacier this place isn't bad but isn't great. The lodge wasn't my first choice and wasn't cheap or what you got. I didn't realize they did not have A/C and temperatures were near 100°F when we were there. We were given a fan that was almost broken. I had to take the plastic grill off the fan and try to hand crank the motor get the fan working. Don't know how it is during the winter but probably would not stay. It was tremendously roomy and clean, more like an apartment, with a fully stocked kitchen and laundry. It had a tiny little terrace that looked out on the slopes. Housekeeping left us alone during our stay, which we prefer -- making our own beds and doing our own dishes. The water around glacier is so good right out of the tap, that we were able to make pots and pots of excellent tea and coffee (Montana coffee traders coffee from the store downstairs) with free fast internet for all our devices. This lodge is 40 min from Glacier, but is quiet and empty, unlike the park itself. Probably not the best choice for August! We were visiting Glacier Nat'l Park so this was quite a bit out of the way. I would choose something in town or closer to the park next time. The room was clean but there is no continental breakfast and the drive is pretty far. For skiing in the winter though this would be perfect!
