We get to book a private bath, and the family bath is a first come first serve, so we split that between my dughter and I in the family bath whie my husband took the private bath - no bathing suits allowed. They also have a huge public bath, but my daughter would not have anything to do with that. After a few very heck days, our two night stay was a much needed rest. We missed the evening dinner reservation...

"Very nice staff. However, there was black mold in the bathroom, the entire place is closed from 10am-3pm, it's hard to find the staff even during "open" hours, and it's far from the train station. It is very close to all of the 7 Hells and some of the best onsen in Japan."

"We had a great stay at Ryokan Kiraku. First, the service is excellent! Even my son noticed: "Everyone is running!" They happily stored our bags when we arrived before check-in. Everything was explained clearly. The onsens were well-maintained, and we especially loved the ability to use the private onsen between certain hours, or reserve the family onsen. "The buffet for both Dinner and breakfast is nice. My family enjoyed the prawns for steaming at our table. And also we could grill our food at out table for breakfast. Interesting and very fresh."
