Bar was great, friendly staff and locals. Dinner was great both nights we ate there and really good cooked breakfast to start the day. Recommend as a place to stay to explore the area.
We stayed over for one night whilst exploring around Whitby and the surrounding area. Nice little pub/hotel, great breakfast, friendly and great for the dogs too
Stayed here as attending a wedding at Danby castle . It was quiet , bedroom lovely and clean , staff very friendly and accommodating, breakfast delicious.. no fault whatsoever. Would definitely recommend 🙂
My daughter and I had a fantastic stay at this delightful place, staff were amazing and the room was comfortable and clean! Will definitely recommend to anyone!
Lovely spacious room and friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful location with train station nearby. Great breakfast.
Our only complaint was that rooms at the far end of the hotel had zero Wi-Fi, although I'm sure this will be fixed soon.
We had a lovely stay at this lovely little hotel. Staff were very welcoming. Room 8 was biggerthanexpected. Nice view . Good facilities.
Food was nice, breakfast was really good.
Would visit again.
Loved our stay here, nice location, nice food, lovely old building and great staff.Beautiful surroundings and views of North Yorkshire ideally placed for visiting Whitby, and the Moores. Can’t fault the people or place, our room was nice and clean and serviced daily and had all the necessary tea and coffee on hand, even though the shower was really small we managed.
This is our second stay at the Fox and Hounds. The staff are very welcoming. The food is excellent, with an extensive choice available. The room was clean, and well presented. There was a good supply of tea bags, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water, plus shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.
Very dog friendly too!

Lovely bar/restaurant area serving delicious home cooked food, lots of choice and very reasonably priced. The room was basic but clean and comfortable and gave us everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay. Great value for money we will definitely return
Lovely place, friendly and very hospitable team, great location to visit area. Highly recommend to all to anyone travelling to the North. Fantastic access to bothe the dales and the coast. Loved it.
Out of the way property with lovely views, quiet area, room was clean and spacious, food ok. Staff were lovely. Only saw one other pub at a walkable distance so quite remote. Would stay again though.
