Ground Floor: Living room: Freeview TV Kitchen/dining room: Freeview TV, Gas Cooker, Range, Microwave, Fridge, Dishwasher Utility Room: Freezer, Washing Machine First Floor: Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Bedroom 2: Bunk (3ft) Beds Bathroom: Roll Top Bath, Cubicle Shower, Toilet Second Floor: Bedroom 3: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds Third Floor: Bedroom 4: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Just a short distance from the many attractions Whitby has to offer, Whitby Townhouse is less than a 10-minute walk away from the glorious long golden beach stretching all the way to neighbouring Sandsend. You are in an ideal position to enjoy all the delights in this wonderful seafaring town. Set over four floors, and sleeping up to eight guests, bunk bedroom more suitable for children, it offers elegant, stylish accommodation for families or friends seeking a memorable getaway. The property retains many original features and is lovingly decorated with elegance and comfort in mind. You are welcomed with high ceilings, tall windows bathing each room in light, as well as a graceful handmade banister sweeping its way from the ground floor all the way to the top bedroom. Enter the property into the living room with a decorative feature fireplace and a bay window. There is comfortable seating for eight adults, so you can unwind together in an evening. The kitchen with dining area is superb for family meals with plenty of space for eight around the table. The kitchen has a traditional country essence, with a range style oven, Belfast sink and timber worktops. This room is well-equipped with everything you could expect to cook a full Sunday roast. There is even a wall mounted TV, so you can catch up on your favourite soaps whilst rustling up the dinner. From the kitchen you have a utility room which can also be used for coats and walking boots, leading out into the enclosed yard. The yard has a seating area and barbecue as well as outside storage with beach equipment ready for your days out on the sand. On the first floor is an elegant king-size double bedroom with feature fireplace, a spacious house bathroom with delightful free standing roll top bath, separate shower, toilet and basin. There’s also a twin with full size bunks. The second floor has a well sized twin bedroom. In the attic room there is a kingsize double with en-suite shower and views over the rooftops over the town and beyond. Guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to award-winning restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops in Whitby. A visit to Whitby is not complete without sampling some of the freshly caught seafood, from fish and chips, scampi to crab and lobster. It is a town steeped in history, learn more about Captain Cook at one of the many museums including one on a replica ship in the harbour, or take the famous 199 steps to St Mary’s Church and iconic abbey for a taste of Whitby’s heritage. 19 miles to the south, Scarborough remains a quintessential and much loved seaside resort, with its two sandy beaches, castle, lovely Peasholm Park, Sea Life Sanctuary, Open Air Theatre and Alpamare Water Park and Wellness Spa - all well worth a visit. There are many pretty fishing villages along the coast where fishermen can be seen working such as Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay, along Yorkshire’s wonderful heritage coast. Children will love visiting the arcades, as well as spending days at the beach fossil hunting and exploring the rock pools. There is also Flamingo Land theme park and zoo just a short drive away for a big day out they will love. Your well behaved pet is welcome to join you, dogs will be in heaven discovering the many walking trails along the coastline, as well as in the surrounding North Yorkshire Moors National Park, taking in the breath taking scenery. It’s got bags of character, is beautifully decorated, was immaculate and in a fantastic location in Whitby - close to all main attractions. It would be no good for very elderly or folks with any walking disability as there are sooooo many levels and steps, but fine for anyone who’s fit and happy to bound up and down 6 small flights of stairs to get to the top floor. Parking could be an issue and comms on this matter was poor. The owner has delegated comms on this property to a VBRO agent and therefore there is no personal touch or understanding, or care, when a question is asked, as I did about location and parking before arrival. It mentions a car pass for one car in the comms, but on arrival the package explains you can buy more. It would have helped to know that before. There’s a decent little car park down the road but no detail given on this and it was full by the time one of our group arrived. They coped, but more advice on where and how to park would be appreciated. The owners though actually look after the property really well and clearly have a great cleaning team. The price was very fair and I’d definitely return to the property if staying in Whitby again. It was extremely comfortable and a fabulous place for us to meet up as four sets of friends.
