What a lovely place to spend Christmas! We had a wonderful time at the Threshing Barn.
What a lovely place to spend Christmas! We had a wonderful time at the Threshing Barn. It is a really cosy cottage, with beautiful walks from the door, and fabulous walks on the beach only a short drive away. The facilities are incredible - the pool and gym are 5*, and the games room is a gem, even if it did prove that I really, really can't play darts : ( The local butcher and village shop are well worth a visit - thoroughly lovely people and products.Sandra has thought of almost everything, and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We loved the Christmas decorations and mince pies!!Would return to the Threshing Barn without question.

We have been visiting these cottages for years and always look forward to our annual visit. The standard of accommodation is unfailingly excellent which, coupled with the superb location between moors and coast and the warmth of welcome from Tom and Sandra, make for the ideal "get away from it all" break.

Every need is catered for, the spa and pool are 5star , the only thing that could be improved is the WiFi signal (more for the kids enjoyment really).

Sandra and Tom run a small but fantastic group of holiday cottages in an amazing location.
Sandra and Tom run a small but fantastic group of holiday cottages in an amazing location. As a family who regularly holiday in the UK this was the best week away we have had for many years. The walks, cycling, steam train and places of interest were all within a short drive of the accommodation and the swimming pool and gym at Red House Farm Cottages were superb and enjoyed by us all. An ideal family holiday and one we hope to repeat in the future.

Absolutely idyllic, the gardens are beautiful and I enjoyed swinging over the pond with my gin.
Absolutely idyllic, the gardens are beautiful and I enjoyed swinging over the pond with my gin.
Owned by beautiful people, Glaisdale butchers is amazing, I've put on so much weight from his pork pies ...and gin of course lol
8 for comfort as double bed a little hard for us and pillows lacked stuffing but other than that all lovely.
I did a run whilst there and all the locals kept cheering out to me, you can't meet friendlier people than this village. Wheatsheaf at Egton and Board Inn at Lealholm outstanding for meals. Wonderful week away, definitely recommend the walks from the Moors National Park visitors centre, just stunning!

We've stayed in the Threshing Barn three times, covering both summer and winter.
We've stayed in the Threshing Barn three times, covering both summer and winter. The accommodation is very well-equipped and has a lovely, cosy feel, and the owners are very friendly without being intrusive. It's only around 8 miles to the coast so it's very easy to get to a beach, and there are some lovely local walks around the valley and to nearby towns. There are some nice pubs in the area too! We have very much enjoyed all our visits.
