"Food was amazing at both restaurants. It was on the more expensive side, but it seemed like any nice place is Salem was comparable and the food here was wonderful. No spooky stuff happened in our room, which was a relief to my partner (who didn’t know we were staying in one of the most haunted hotels in America). If you like a time period stay with updates, this is the way to go. They kept the classic parts of the hotel, but the bathrooms were updated with nice tubs and showers. The only thing was it’s on the smaller side (understandable as it is a 1920s building and everything was small). Such as the toilet paper was mounted to the bathroom door so when we showered (no vent) the condensation would get the toilet paper wet. They set the whole building to heat in the colder months (and cool in the summer months) and we are hot sleepers so we were worried we would get too hot. The windows open and they offer box fans if we got too hot (we never did and the room was set at 72 which is unheard of for us living at home in 67-69 degrees in our house). It was all very comfortable and cute and was a wonderful stay. When we come back to Salem we will more than likely book her again, especially since parking is included all the way until 10-11pm (I can’t remember exactly) on your check out day and they will even secure your luggage for you after check out so you can explore some more. "

"We had a great stay overall. The neighborhood was really nice and felt quiet and safe. Unfortunately, the weather during our visit was rainy and cold, so we didn’t end up walking into Salem as we originally planned—but it was only about a 5-minute drive, which made it very convenient. We did walk to Salem Pioneer Village, which took us around 15 minutes, though likely shorter without little ones in tow.The home itself was very spacious and comfortable. We think there may have been other guests staying at the property, but we never saw or heard anyone, which made it feel very private.The hardwood floors can be a bit noisy, but that may have just been our 3- and 5-year-olds stomping around—nothing negative, just something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with kids. The bathroom is a little tight, but manageable, and the shower head is quite high, which could be a consideration for shorter guests.The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and the beds were incredibly comfortable—the linens even smelled amazing, which is always a nice touch.We would definitely stay here again!"

"It was the worst check in and overall experience I have ever had. They say check in desk is only open until 6 p.m. and they say check in is at 4 p.m. I was in town for a an event that began at 6 p.m. I arrived at the "hotel" at 2:45 p.m. There was no cars in the parking lot, I went to the front desk, the hotel was empty. The person said, no hello, just check is not until 4 p.m. I asked can I put my stuff down in my room (I had a clothes bag and two computer bags). She said no, check is not until 4 p.m. The place was vacant, there are a number of rooms in the "hotel", there was no reason she couldn't let me drop my bags in my room. She was awful. Now remember, they say that desk service ends at 6 p.m., so they give you 120 minutes to get any service at all, from 4 to 6. I asked again can I leave my stuff, she said you can leave it in the middle of the front desk area. I left my clothes bag but not my valuable computers. When I returned, the clothes bag was just sitting where I left it, there was an envelope in a basket that said my name and room number that anyone could take, it was bizarre. Parking lot was still empty, so noone was there. When I got to my room, the door was wide open, not closed, I thought Norman Bates was waiting for me. The furniture was broken, the bathroom doorknob was half off..Why anyone gives this place a decent rating is a lie and beyond me."

"Interesting space with great kitchen setup, roomy, private, and reasonably convenient, and host was responsive immediately when there were problems at check-in (broken lock box and open front door upon arrival). However: the floor was very much not clean (as in, our socks were dirty after ten minutes inside without shoes), the thermostat did not work, and there is a pet door to an outside hallway that cannot be shut/locked. (There's also a lot of noise from the facility upstairs during the day, but this wasn't an issue after business hours.) Overall it was broadly fine, but would not choose this spot again."

"Have stayed here twice. Very convenient to the college, easy check-in. Both times we were here, there was a blizzard, but the host helped dig our car out and kept the property clean and passable. Would stay again. "
