It is built on the site of a WWII gun battery, and commands panoramic views over Weymouth & Portland, and out across the English Channel. The space This is a small brick built building set on a hill at Shortlake Farm just to the south of the village. It is built on the site of a WWII gun battery, and commands panoramic views over Weymouth & Portland, and out across the English Channel. It is located just off a quiet no-through-road, up a gravel track, and is surrounded by pasture. From the cottage, you can find The Smugglers Inn, and a couple of small shops, which are approximately just a 5 minute, walk away. The walk to Shortlake Farm's private beach takes just 5 minutes or so across the fields. The property can sleep up to 7 guests (one double bed in the main bedroom, one bunk bed and a pull out in the conservatory and a double bed in the Shepherds Hut). Outside is a small patio area with a hot tub and table and chairs which overlooks Weymouth Bay, and continues beyond onto grassy fields. The pictures speak for themselves - 180 degree plus uninterrupted views over the surrounding sea and coastline. Around the property are fields belonging to the farm where we graze sheep and occasionally cattle. Well-behaved pets are welcome at Shortlake Cottage, and guests can borrow a dog from Eweleaze Farm for the day. Please note that unless specified, we will make up the double in the main bedroom. Guest access Use of entire property, galley kitchen, small shower room/toilet, double bedroom, conservatory with woodburner and set of bunk beds. There is also a shepherds hut in the garden for extra accommodation.
