Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Osmington, this stunning Grade II-listed thatched cottage perfectly captures the charm and character of quintessential Dorset life. Ideally situated just 5 miles from the traditional seaside town of Weymouth, it’s the perfect base for exploring the breathtaking Dorset coastline and countryside. The vibrant town of Weymouth offers something for everyone, from its pretty harbour and bustling high street filled with shops and eateries, to its Victorian esplanade and historic Nothe Fort. For walkers and nature lovers, the South West Coast Path is easily accessible, and the area boasts a choice of beautiful beaches, including Chesil Beach (10 miles), with its sweeping pebbles, and the sheltered Ringstead Bay (4 miles). Nearby Abbotsbury (12 miles) is another must-visit, home to a charming children’s farm, the world-famous Swannery, and lush Subtropical Gardens. Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are also nearby if you wish to explore more of the Jurassic Coast.

At the rear of the cottage lies the well-equipped kitchen/dining room, featuring a traditional AGA and delightful views over the garden. French doors open out onto a private patio and enclosed rear garden, perfect for al fresco dining or a morning coffee. Also, on the ground floor (step leading into bedroom) is a king-size bedroom with its own en-suite shower room and French doors leading directly to the garden – a lovely retreat for guests seeking extra privacy. A utility room provides plenty of space for coats, boots, and beach equipment. Take the cottage-style stairs to the first floor, where you’ll find three further bedrooms, each full of character and offering a peaceful space to unwind. There are two king-size bedrooms and a twin room featuring bunk beds and a baby’s cot, making it ideal for families of all ages. The family bathroom completes the first floor and features a beautiful roll-top bath and WC, the perfect place to relax and soak after a day of adventure.
Outside, you can enjoy precious time together in the mature, well-maintained garden. Let the children explore while you unwind on the patio with your favourite drink, or make use of the summer house, a wonderful spot for those long summer evenings. Please note, there is a pond in the rear garden, and children must be supervised at all times. Parking for one car is available at the rear of the property, with additional on-street parking available on a first-come, first-served basis.
