"Tracey & Mark were lovely, very attentive. Boho suite was smaller than expected felt a bit closed in due to lack of views/light from windows. The other rooms were beautiful though. They had lovely linen and wines for sale also. Nice location in Tokai. Would go again. "
"Really good place to stay in a lovely area. Staff really friendly and helpful and it felt like a home away from home! We had a great time and would definitely stay again! "
"Celebrated my 40th birthday here and it was one of the best hotel experiences ever. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable, they felt more like family. The property is breathtaking and beautiful. The pictures do it very little justice. They offer breakfast every morning and it was very tasty. The property was extremely clean and quiet. It’s situated in a very convenient location, we opted to uber everywhere and the drivers had no problem finding the hotel. I can’t wait to visit Sea Star Rock...

"Our recent visit to this extraordinary Cape Town hotel was far more than just a stay, it was an incredible experience that felt like a heartfelt reunion with long-lost friends and family. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in genuine warmth and welcome, making us feel exceptionally cherished.
The hotel established on a heritage site is nothing short of epic. Every detail, from the architecture to meticulously designed interiors, spoke of unparalleled luxury and comfort. We truly couldn't have wished for more. Recent refurbishments are clearly "next level," seamlessly blending modern elegance with the hotel's inherent charm. The environment, both indoors and out, was absolutely beautiful, offering a serene and picturesque backdrop.
And the food? Absolutely "on point." Each meal was a culinary delight, a testament to exceptional quality and exquisite taste. It's rare to find a hotel where every dining aspect is so consistently outstanding. For anyone with discerning taste seeking royal treatment, we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. It's more than a stay, it's an experience that rejuvenates the spirit and warms the soul. We're already planning our return, bringing friends and family. This Cape Town gem truly requires more than just one visit to appreciate its magic."
"This property was not at all what I expected. There was a thousand stairs to the guesthouse which is terrible. This was not mentioned on the website Our room showed a view but there was a big tree in front of the view. The toilet in the room was enclosed with such a small space that the door could not be closed. No tea or coffee facilities in the room with only a communal kitchen. The room was clean but there was not even soap in the room as expected. Will not make use or recommend this quest house to anyone."
"Excellent! Our first floor room was spacious and well decorated with all ameneties including tea/coffee, fridge, beach towels etc. TV had Netflix etc. More St James than Kalk Bay but only 10mins walk to Kalk Bay. Breakfast was excluded but we just added and the choice was extensive. parking was available just around the corner. Only two comments which did not bother us was that the room had no air-con but was very cool. Overhead fan and open windows were fine. The only other comment its that the road is quite busy and the odd train passes by but we would still definitely return!"
"We had a great stay. The staff are wonderful. The view from our window was fantatic. We stayed 9 nights while visiting friends. Breakfast was also great. Lots of good restaurants around.
We highly recommend it."
