"This place can only be described with one word, "WOW". That is the exact thing I said when pulling up to it. The driveway is steep and dirt so it can be intimidating but it isn't that bad at all. We went here on our honeymoon and had to ride 3 hours to get there on a motorcycle. This place was equipped with a beautiful outdoor firepit, 2 gas propane grills, and an indoor propane heater (leave the door cracked). "The breakfast buffet was very good with great variety. I also liked pots of hot coffee in the lobby available all day. The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. Perhaps it was because my room could be an adjoining room, but we could hear everything next door. Our neighbor called to complain about our tv volume, so I guess they could hear everything also."

"The pet friendly room we had was pretty dirty to the room we had two weeks prior where we had a dog and they were unaware. This room had a much smaller runner around the beds, terrible beds, mouse droppings in the corner and another corner near the bathroom had ants. The hallways needed to be vacuumed as earlier in the day upon arrival they were doing lawn care and the grass clippings where everywhere."

"The property was clean and the staff was polite, but I was disappointed that I was placed in an accessible room even though I did not request one. I asked if another room was available and was told the hotel was fully booked. While I understand availability issues happen, the room layout was not comfortable for my stay and did not match my expectations when booking. Other than that, the property itself was decent and well maintained."

"This place looks like crime scene #2. The rooms are clean, but they're also ragged as hell. Holes in the wall, lights that don't work. It's where you go when you don't have any other choices. If that's the case, you could do worse. But block the door with a chair or suitcase, because the chains are busted."

"Very well run hotel, conveniently located in the heart of Brattleboro. Free parking in a lot next to the hotel was a nice touch. My only gripe would be that my room (104) had no view as the windows were made of some kind of stained glass that you can't see through and couldn't open. Also they could not be closed all the way and allowed a cold draft to come through on a chilly night. I had to stuff towels in the open gaps to keep the chill out. A little strange I thought, but was manageable."

"Viking village is one of the most unique experiences we have had with being the most authentic and amazing Norse village in the United States. Attention to comfort and period detail along with an outdoor fire pit with Soay goats was unmatched. We didn’t want to leave. Paul and Christine were fabulous hosts and we will be back to the Viking village!"
