"It's a large corporate style hotel. I'm not a fanof this style of place but it was very conveniently located in Kanata if you have business there. Staff were great especially the wait staff at breakfast."

"Our room at The Fairmont Chateau Laurier was very disappointing. We chose a view of the Parliament Building .... if you sat in the one shabby chair in the corner, close to the window or leaned forward on the windowsill you could see it. The bathroom was so tiny that you had to almost straddle the toilet to use the wash hand basin. We are regular sized humans. The drinking glasses were stored on a shelf, at toilet bowl level, 12.5 inches from the front of the toilet bowl { yes I measured it!}. The unit holding the kettle and coffee maker had both placed at knee level: the side that had been the bar fridge had no shelves and needed a good clean imo. The sound insulation was appalling. We could hear both sides of a business conversation in the room next door { and the gentleman was using a perfectly ordinary level of speech}. On the second morning the cleaners { contract apparently} cleaning around the front door with a power washing or blower were so loud at 6.30 am that we got up and left for home. On the upside, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable."

"This is the perfect place to stay while visiting your kids at any of the Universities in Ottawa. We happen to be moving our child into their off campus housing and knew we would be too tired to drive home after the move, so we booked a room for the night to rest and recovery. When we entered our room we quickly realized that there was an error, it was not the suite we booked. I went down to the front desk to quietly let them know that there was a mistake, it was TOO big. The hostess then informed me that we had been upgraded and she had forgotten to mention it. Wow! It came fully equipped with a kitchen, dining space, sitting area, 2 bedrooms ( spacious and comfy), 2 full bathrooms and a laundry room. Towels were plentiful, robes and extra blankets were available in each room. Close to lots of restaurants and shops. This location was amazing. The only downfall was that we weren’t there long enough to enjoy the pool which was one of the reasons why I booked this hotel, we arrived too late. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the staff for the beautiful hospitality."
