"I was not made aware the pool was down for maintenance even after chatting with the front desk clerk and I were talking about me taking my 6 year old the next morning. VERY DISAPPOINTED. The walls were being repainted which was nice to see some improvement. The carpet is lifting all over the place. It’s cool that it is solar powered. The beds are hard and aren’t stable. The pillows aren’t comfortable. The free breakfast was decent for being free. However, the place was empty and it was kinda creepy because of it. There were little things that need replacing, but I’m sure with updates it will be taken care of. The heating unit is hard to figure out. Oh and there was something very sticky and gross on the window sill. We might go back if the pool is available, but without that and it being the only thing to entertain my child, it will be a deal breaker!! The best price for a facility like this is the Expedia price because their website is excessively over priced. "

"Stayed here yesterday and honestly, this place exceeded expectations. From the moment I walked in, it felt peaceful and well put together. The cabin had a clean, modern feel with that warm wood interior that just makes you instantly relax. The big window view was my favorite part. Waking up and seeing nothing but trees and nature felt like hitting a reset button on life. It was quiet, private, and exactly what I needed to unwind. Everything was clean, organized, and easy to use. You can tell they actually care about the experience, not just renting out a space. If you’re looking for a quick getaway not too far from Chicago, this is definitely worth it. I’ll be coming back for sure."

"This hotel is a short drive from both state parks in the area, with many restaurants nearby as well. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfy. Definitely would stay here again!"

"This was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever experienced, but since I had paid and was from out of town I stuck it out until morning. The property is basically falling apart. Several moldy or broken ceiling tile. The bathroom had been aggressively caulked with spotted stains of growth still slowing. A large chipped gash was in the tub. They were stains all over the back of the door. The lobby bathroom is accessible to the attached bar grill, with all the association of what to expect a bar bathroom to be. Extremely disappointing experience. "

"It was absolutely amazing the only downside which is not any of the staffs fault is that the fire alarm went off at about 3:30am but other than that it was a terrific stay and I will be back!"
