Old castle converted to hotel with restaurant and located right on the lake. Very unique rooms with quiet accommodations. The hotel was able to change from one day to the next my accommodations because of unexpected travel delays. Friendly staff and helpful.

We had a great 3 day stay at the property. Very ancient building (1350 !). Rooms were very authentic, quiet and comfortable. Bathroom a bit small. Great view on the BodenSee. Breakfast buffet very nice. Restaurant has magnificent view on the lake. Would highly recommend for a romantic escape.

The internet did not work in room, answer was the walls are thick and difficult to provide service. Can use in hall or dining room. If internet does not work then should be advertised that way, not ';free internet'. If it does not work it is 'free'

Hotel was wonderful! We had a suite that was spacious, and beautifully decorated. Lovely view of The Bodensee from our room. Restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast.

The Gem of the Bodensee
What a fabulous location! Everything here is so beautiful, the lake is gorgeous, the restaurant is beautiful with good food and a fabulous price point, and the service is superb.

Perfect Romantic getaway
Fantastic hotel on the shore of Lake Constance. We stayed in the Engel Suite which was fantastic. Friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic location, lovely hotel. Reception only manned 8am to 6pm, making an early checkout difficult, reception staff could have been more friendly/helpful when they were there.

Very disappointed
Nice location, good breakfast, reasonable price. Unfortunately the front desk closes at six o'clock. Difficult to check in wtth no one at reception. Also, restaurant double charged for dinner and without internet or management available, almost impossible to resolve.

Great hotel on the lake. Our room had a wonderful view. Comfortable beds clean bathroom and friendly staff. Breakfast was fantastic.

100 Euros is alot of money.
We made our reservations thru Hotels.com and were shocked when we were told the 2 night stay cost over 100 euros more than the reservation. I shared with the receptionist my reservation copy and again she attempted to say her amount was correct, stating the reservation did not include taxes and city fees. After a brief conversation she agreed to change the bill to the reservation amount, but never once apologized for her mistake. The stay was great but this left a bad taste in our mouths.

Castle and swan lake
The hotel is 20 minutes walk from the railway station and 3 minutes walk from the ship pier. Welcome friendly. Check-in quick & simple. Presented with room card & whilst being escorted to the lift, informed concerning dining and breakfast. Room was spacious & clean with view of the lake. Comfortable. Free water or tea/ coffee making facilities not offered. The hotel has old- world charm with decor confirming its history as a castle. It certainly has Bavarian character The restaurant comprises several rooms with different decor and lake view. Staff very friendly. Food good. Some tasty wine. The music was a radio station and alas the music was not conducive to a relaxed dining experience. Where was the Bavarian light music or light general instrumental/ classical music? That would have made the evening much more pleasant and special. The breakfast was fine with quite a selection of food. The hot choice for vegetarian was egg (not all that hot in fact) whilst meat eaters had choice. Tasty breads, fruit and cheese. Good service. Pleasant. The terrace during the day had good ice- cream, cake & selection of drinks. I would stay here again, albeit Wasserburg is only a small village with a couple of churches, lake walks, swans and a good eatery, named Hegestrand 3, by the lake. Quiet and relaxing it is. If you are bike minded then there is a good bicycle shop. ATM can be found at the Sparkasse near the railway station

A first choice near the lake.
This is such an interesting and pleasant hotel. The early check in was quick. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The location was very convenient for walks and enjoying the Bodensee. Breakfast was varied and delicious.

Great location!
Great location, nice hotel and good food. Only point for improvement is that the mattress is too hard and that we would prefer one large quilt instead of two individuals. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it

Nice little gem of a place!
This is a cute hotel (old castle) at the end of the road in its own little area; surrounded by water. Friendly staff upon check in/out and during our stay. We stayed on the backside of the hotel with a bit of a view of the lake. It was grey and chilly when we were here but still perfect weather to walk around the area as well as along the lake and to the center of town. Off season so a lot of the restaurants & some hotels were closed but still enjoyable for 2 days/overnight stay. The room was quite large with super high ceilings, and the bathroom was double/triple the size of other hotels I've been in within Europe. Style of the room was decorated modernly and quite comfortable to stay in. Dinner in the restaurant was quite tasty with a large menu. Breakfast was pretty decent with lots to choose from. Parking spots were plenty when we arrived but I can imagine in the peak season they're limited. We will be back during the summer to ride our bikes around town, explore the other restaurants as well as swim in the lake.

Beautiful old castle hotel along the water.
Wasserburg is simply gorgeous. A beautiful old castle hotel along the water. The hotel restaurant offers great food options incl traditional German fare; along the water's edge, it's a must-do esp in hot summer days. Breakfast is included in the hotel price and offers a huge selection. The hotel beach is typical for the area and is covered in small rocks. Both young and old would benefit from water shoes; without, it makes for difficult walking in and out of the beautiful cool and clean water. The hotel offers water-side loungers and extra beach towels. The room was nice and clean and the bed very comfortable. However typical for such an old hotel, the room was rather small. And without Air-conditioning, was very hot during our stay where temperatures soared to 37. Windows opened onto the water, but after dark little insects flew in. Nonetheless my teen-aged son and I loved it and would definitely recommend it. A Havenrundfahrt (harbour boat tour) and bike rental are musts. A cheap little bike rental shop is just up the road and the pier is nextdoor to the hotel, making this hotel very well placed.

Charming Castle
Loved, loved, loved this hotel. We initially booked 1 night but ended up using this hotel for our base in Southern Germany, we came back twice. This hotel was very charming we stayed in 3 different room and loved all of them even the small one we got for one of the nights, that was all that was available, but I would take the room again in a heart beat, it had great views of the lake. The staff was very friendly, starting with the reception area to the restaurant and breakfast staff. We will definitely be back. This is my all time favorite stay in any hotel and what a great location.

It snowed all night during our stay and it was beautiful looking out the window at the new white blanket, and the lake. The building is very old and looks unique due to this. That being said the room was clean and nice. The people were very nice and the breakfast was good.

Sleep in a castle!
Great location on the Bodensee (Lake Constance) - old castle buildings, but nicely renovated and designed. Rooms very nice with great baths and showers. On-site restaurant is very good and the terrace view of the lake is wonderful.

Beautiful Castle right on the water
Went there for Valentine's Day. It provided a beautiful location, with a great view and a romantic setting. Very well located allowed to to visit much of the area, having Austria and Switzerland within a few minutes drive. Will be staying there again

Its a lovely hotel in a fantastic location but for the cost it was very disappointing not to have internet in our room in fact they gave me there personal internet to use but could only be used on ground and first floor - we were on the third floor. Restaurant staff excellent but other staff were quite offhand and it was mostly "no" to every request. Wonderful open air heated pool with play area and you can swim in the lake there for 2 euros a day while you are staying at hotel and in fact free on the Sunday we were there.

The hotel is located on a tiny peninsula very close to a wharf. You can take the Bodensee boat for day trips around the lake. The neighborhood is very nice, one can access the beach - although it is quite rocky and not so good for a walk. The restaurant was nice, it is located on a terrace right by the water with full view of the sunset. Breakfast was excellent. The ambiance of the hotel is very good, lots of all furniture and the room was spacious. No A/C, though.

A great stay at this hotel, with a fabulous location right on the water. The hotel even has their own private direct access to the lake. The room was great for our family with plenty of space. The only issue was a lack of A/C, which is a constant problem in Europe in general. Also... the restaurant onsite, while the setting is great (patio overlooking the water) the food is mediocre. There are some other restaurants within walking distance.
