Weekend trip to Warsaw - no need to worry
First time to Warsaw, weekend trip with wife. I was really worried about what hotel to book because of the choices and the Intercontinental with the pool was there and the Westin was a bit further out from centre without a pool, but did we want a pool on a 2 night trip etc. And there were other hotels looking more central or near the Old Town. I chose the Westin on a sixth sense after looking at them all and clicked on it Then I worried about my choice for 3 weeks.. I need not have worried . The Westin is SUPERB. It is trying to position itself as a bit up market and it succeeds. ok - so it's a few more paces of good excercise to get the the centre or the Old Town but that doesn't matter because the route through parks is fantastic. I had a quick look in the lobby of the Intercontinental and I was so glad I chose the Westin because the Westin lobby was so much nicer. The staff were excellent. Vodka shot at the bar before going out for that slightly longer walk (10 minutes) superb. As per the other reviews, you must upgrade to Executive Suite, a great deal with free evening drinks and breakfast in top floor lounge. If your searching for something traditional, Polish, a flavour of the country etc, then this would not be for you. This is a modern hotel that Warsaw is proud of, and rightly so.. Nice hotel Mercedes taxi to take you anywhere. In my small guide map leaflet it started with "Warsaw is moving and shaking at a pace that even Berlin can't keep up with". That sums it up.
