The best time to go to Warmquelle is during the dry season, from May to October, when the weather is consistently pleasant and wildlife viewing is at its peak.During these months, the days are typically sunny and warm, with temperatures ranging from 20-30°C, and the evenings are cool and comfortable. The lack of rain means the vegetation is sparser, making it easier to spot animals congregating around the limited water sources, such as the natural spring that gives Warmquelle its name. This period is ideal for those planning wildlife safaris or scenic drives through the rugged Kunene Region.Couples looking for a romantic and adventurous getaway will find this time particularly appealing. The clear skies are superb for stargazing, and the comfortable daytime temperatures allow for enjoyable exploration of the surrounding desert landscapes and Himba settlements without the discomfort of extreme heat or rain. Many lodges in the area offer guided tours and excursions that are best experienced during these drier conditions.Families travelling with children will also appreciate the dry season. The stable weather reduces the chances of travel disruptions, and outdoor activities like nature walks and visits to local communities are more comfortable for everyone.
