We had a wonderful stay at The Moorings. In fact so lovely that we booked in again on our way back from Queenstown. Darren was very welcoming, he gave us some good tips for our travel routes and we had some great chats - a lovely guy. The property itself was very comfortable, well maintained, quiet, clean and had a lovely view of the lake. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Highly recommend!

This property is exactly as you would expect for a traditional motel. It’s conveniently located only a short walk from the town centre. The room was excellent and very comfortable.

The main point was how helpful Alice was beforehand. I had to change the booking but couldnt with Expedia and Alice did it all and responded within minutes to all my emails. Great service. The place is great and lots of little thoughtful things to make a great stay. My only advice would be to ask for a room away from the road. The lorries start early.

We had a modern room with kitchen and all the facilities needed for a short stay while exploring the Wanaka area. We were in walking distance of the centre and only a few minutes drive from the start of the Roys Peak path, an experience we will find it hard to better.

Room (apartment!) was clean, staff member at reception was lovely and even accomodated our last minute request to have a room with a view for our honeymoon.

Friendly and welcoming with locally picked cherries on arrival! Walking distance to everything you need. Very helpful when I had a problem with my phone charger. Would recommend staying.

Stayed one night in February 2017 and found the motel very comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. 15 minutes walk to the centre and restaurants so fairly convenient location.

Facilities what you would expect (no proper bin is my only minor gripe). Spotlessly clean. But what stood out was the friendliness and helpfulness of the proprietors. My planned onward journey was made impossible by a land slip and they gave up a whole hour of their time sorting everything out for me.
