"Very happy overnight stay in a family room for a family of four. Very homely atmosphere, the hotel is an older building so a bit quirky but nothing to detract from being comfortable. Played table tennis and pool on the small & unbalanced table - all good fun for non-serious players. Food was good too."

"An excellent hotel to explore and hike in the Black mountains. Really friendly staff, Adrian the manager was extremely charming and helpful especially with sourcing great wine for us! The rooms are beautiful and very spacious. The grounds are stunning with lovely river walks directly from the hotel. Dogs are very welcome which was great especially as we have an extra large one! We will be coming back"

"Hotel reception manager was lovely and helpful during our stay. Room was okay, average and clean enough - though it had a smell (possibly from the bathroom) when we entered so we aired the room out. Downside was how thin the walls were / how loud the other guests were on a Saturday night. The noises kept us up from late evening to around 2am."

"The room was very clean, but very tired. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls the lights in the bathroom were flickering loads and took ages to turn on. The bath was very chipped and when you ran the taps the water leaked all across the top of the bath. The bed had lovely bedding but the bed was way too soft and ended up with snacking back in the morning. Room very hot as well."

"Decent breakfast, clean room and fresh sheets. Property not suitable for people who have mobility issues narrow, steep winding stair cases. Would have been safer if someone offered to carry cases to room. Property was interesting as very old, possibly old staging house. Almost centre of town. "

"Parking in the hotel car park required skill to get in and out of a narrow and tricky access but I’m sure other parking in the town was available. "

"The room was clean but bathroom and the room itself looked tired and needed a bit of decorative attention. The veggie breakfast was good and there was plenty to choose from. The staff were polite and friendly. "
