If you want to get away from your hectic life and reconnect stay here. Makaha Valley is about 1 hr north from downtown Honolulu and 30 min from the Disney/ Four Seasons resort area. You will need a vehicle. We loved it, but it depends upon what you are looking for. More locals live in this area and there are some sketch spots along the way. Homeless, etc. But we never felt unsafe and the property itself is in a gated community with a manned station at the entrance. ##### Amy M. The home was clean and located in a newer development. It is tucked back up in mountains making it very quiet. The property manager was very responsive, professional and friendly. The only thing I would say is the 45 min to an hour drive across island to get to shops, snorkel tours, and beaches etc. There is a pretty large homeless encampment on the drive to the house, but the house is set far back into the valley. It’s a beautiful brand new home. The only drawback was there was no outside space available. The whole community is under construction so it’s all a work in progress. No doubt that a little bit down the road it will be great .The view was amazing at this rental , the mountains, and the whole valley to the water.
