The cottage is very authentic, historically old, but well renovated and modernized it has everything you need even a washing machine, dishwasher, etc. and the hot water system worked smoothly. We didn't heatlight the fire. It is very pretty and comfortably furnished and offers plenty of space our dog particularly liked the garden behind the house the property is surrounded by a wall so that you can leave the dog outside unattended. The location is rural and quiet you definitely need your own car. The beautiful coast and Padstow can be reached in 15-20 minutes by car.
There was no WiFi and the internet connection in the tiny village was very poor. This is a serious negative point these days. It's just part of it now. The location is a bit "out of the way" and the nearest supermarket is a 15-minute drive away. The immediate area is heavily used for agriculture, including wind turbines 1 km away. Unfortunately, the somewhat isolated, rural location does not have the advantage that dog owners can find beautiful, idyllic walking paths right on their doorstep - unfortunately, there are none! Only asphalt roads without sidewalks and field paths closed off with gates that you can't walk on and that aren't particularly attractive either. So the location was disappointing for us we had imagined the nature there to be more pristine and accessible. When the tenant arrives, he is greeted by a thick folder with hundreds of instructions about what he can and must do and what he cannot do, where disasters are imminent and what to do in emergencies - this is certainly well-intentioned, but it is downright intimidating. Everything worked well, not everything straight away, but ultimately there wasn't too much to consider and adjust. A "streamlining" of this lavish "instruction file" would have a relaxing effect on the newcomer :-)
