"My wife and I like to stay in small towns. We do not like fancy hotels and big cities. We like to have a place we can anchor from and then enjoy the journey. Hotel Brienz was perfect. First the area is amazing. The staff is great. Family owned and operated. You are 1 hour from Luzern, and Bern. 40 minutes to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. 20 from Interlaken. 2 3/4 hour train ride to Zermatt. Hotel offers a very nice and complete breakfast. Rooms are very clean. The bed was a little hard but the staff went out of their way to bring me other items such a pillows, blankets to make it more comfortable. They genuinely cared. It is not a new property, but it is very well kept. Keeps the charm of the area. Wry quiet and the views are stunning. Great hotel. Great staff, great access to the wonders of Switzerland."

"The apartment is in a good location. The layout of the house was also nice. I am not sure if the owner is still getting things organized or if he is just this way. We arrived around 5:30pm or so and the place had not been cleaned. I sent pictures and told owner. He sent a cleaner out immediately. We went to dinner and got a text about an hour later saying it was clean. It was sorta cleaned…..not like I think it normally would have been. The floors were not swept or vacuumed or mopped. The bottoms of our feet and socks got super dirty from the floor. Again…..this might not be the norm, I think he probably told his cleaner to clean it quick. Over all I have a feeling it is usually cleaner. It does have free parking! And a beautiful view!!"

"Room was very comfortable and clean with nice amenities but no fridge to store my meds in. I was fortunate that I had frozen water bottles so it was able to stay cold during my stay. "

"Alina is a great host. Very quick to respond to questions. She met us at the house to go over instructions for an easy checkin. The house is about a 7 minute walk from the train. The bedrooms are big. The view is amazing. Lovely patio to enjoy the mornings and evenings on. Kitchen has a dishwasher which was a nice surprise and had all the cookware we needed.There are a lot of stairs and the walk from town is uphill. I only mention this in case people have mobility issues."

"We have stayed in many cabins in Sorenberg over the years. This was the first awful experience. The house had the terrible smell like something was burning, with all the windows closed. I checked the exterior and there was no bbq and nobody was burning wood. There was a serious issue within the house , (we were worried it was an electrical issue because the refrigerator door was left open when we arrived and the smell started when we closed it). We left immediately within the hour of arrival and called property management and called and emailed the owner. At first the owner emailed back and said she would refund me but has remained silent. This is very dishonest behavior!! Also, the house looks very old and not well maintained, which added to our concern for safety."
