Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Von Der Heydt?
The best time to go to Von Der Heydt is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months when the weather is mild and pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the region.

Spring brings blooming flowers and comfortable temperatures, superb for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling through the surrounding forests and along the Saar River. You'll find the countryside is particularly green and inviting during this period.

Autumn offers a beautiful display of changing leaf colours and equally agreeable weather. This season is also a good time to experience local harvest festivals and enjoy the regional cuisine, often featuring fresh produce from the area. The slightly cooler temperatures are excellent for leisurely strolls through towns like Saarbrücken, which is just a short drive away.

While summer (July and August) can also be lovely, it tends to be busier with more tourists and higher temperatures.
