We had a lovely stay in this family hotel. The location is nice, in a remote place in the national park so you definitely need a car to reach it although we were told in the summer you can reach Cesis in two hours. The ladies running the hotel were really friendly and even let us use the sauna at 10.30 pm because we spent the evening in Cesis. Overall, I really recommend the hotel and wouldn't definitely return there if ever in Latvia again.

Excellent apartment with modern furniture, by the sea in a very quiet spot. Great staff and value for money. Absolutely recommend and will be back myself.

The Grand Hotel is superbly located. As I entered the lobby, I was warmly greeted and advised of the location of breakfast and also the times On arrival at my room I was immediately impressed by the amount of space I had and how richly furnished and decorated it was. Really high-spec hotel and room. All beautifully decorated and presented, including public areas. Young staff on reception were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Our twin apartment was small but top notch and very well equipped. It was handy to be able to get extra items such as pillows, toaster and iron from reception. On first impressions the area this side of the station where the hotel is located was not very nice. However, it was in fact safe and interesting, especially the markets....

Excellent hotel- they just get everything right, even dealing with problems. At one point we were miscommunicated breakfast time but the staff were so fantastic at dealing with the problem by ensuring that we were looked after that it not only wasn’t a problem - it was turned into a big positive. They take customer service very seriously. Excellent experience all round - other hotels could learn a lot. Great food. Lovely location. And very quiet l. All round well done !

Beautiful hotel with good facilities, soft furnishings make this a high end hotel in new state of repair. In an excellent location for exploring old town. Good location, near a little park with a nice cafe and not too far to walk from the centre. Excellent breakfast- great variety with different diets catered for. The hot smoked salmon was amazing.

The host was lovely and made us feel very welcome. They contacted us in advance to understand how we wanted the room to be set up as we were travelling as a family, and accommodated our need for an early morning check out. The garden and garden view are also lovely. There was some ant powder in the property when we stayed which might not be good if you're travelling with small children, but wasn't a problem for us.

Loved everything about this hostel. The location is super convenient, an easy walk to the city centre and the staff were friendly. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. The cherry on top was the free fruit! I would definitely come back again
