Great value. Good location. Clean comfortable room

Location - the hotel is 30-40 minutes north of Nice by car or public transport and is situated in Les Moulins - a small village near to Castagniers. The location isn't great as there is nothing to do near the hotel so the only reason to stay here is to save money by not staying in the centre of Nice. Restaurants - places to eat were a problem. The hotel did breakfast (which was good, although charged as extra to the room rate) but the adjacent restaurant was closed temporarily, the next one was closed permanently and other options were strange (a pizza kiosk in the street and a rotisserie combined with a dog salon!). The local convenience store was good though and supplied most of the food we needed. Room - room was ok. The small kitchen was very useful. Bathroom and toilet were fine. Balcony was good. Aircon on full was just about strong enough to bring the temperature down to a tolerable level. Room needed some maintenance. Facilities - swimming pool was really nice and not busy. Tennis court was in good condition. No other facilities to speak of. Overall - a cheaper option than staying in Nice and a good option to get a swimming pool but overall I wouldn't recommend staying here, certainly not without a car.

I read bad reviews along with good reviews toward this establishment. There are some truth on both extremes. In my trip experience, I found the staff at least the front desk was quite friendly at the time I arrived a bit late in the evening. I will try to be balanced on my review here, I talk for myself and other's experience might be varied. Pros: - The room was clean: the bed, the floor, the bathroom, etc. - The location (read the additional note below): very close to several fast food joints (McDonald, Five Guys Burgers, KFC, Burger King) and restaurants. And Carrefour is also walking distance (very convenient to buy groceries and other kind of things). - Mode of transportation: bus stops just ~5 minutes walk. - Parking was quite accommodating: space lot and well-lit) Cons: - The room is: considerably small: not sufficient for a family, even for a couple was not a good size); no iron and ironing board (need to ask the receptionist to lend you the steam iron)' no microwave or coffeemaker; no real desk and chair or some sort (just one square 'night stand' and a desk like stacked shelves with clothes hanger on the side); shower has a weak water pressure; no hand towels just two shower towels and one for the floor; the shower is small (if you are big enough, it might be very uncomfortable to be inside), I'm 5'5" and 160 lbs. - The gate was closed in the late evening, need to press the bell. Note: Expedia lists the establishment in the zip code of 06400 which is inaccurate.
