The breakfast was one of the highlights of our day and the food and drinks at the restaurant were also very good. We also enjoyed easy access to the beach. We also appreciated that the hotel helped us arrange transport from the airport. It was a bit of a drive but the property was worth it. We loved staying at The River!"

Top Vathi Hotel Reviews

Phāea Cretan Malia, a Member of Design Hotels

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing property, felt very high end but still authentic. The staff is very nice and ready to help. The room was comfy and always beach/pool sunbeds available. The breakfast is amazing 10/10 we looked forward to it every day. The onsite reasturants and drinks were over priced for what you got (but the dinner buffet also 10/10 at 45 euros per person). If you are travelling with a baby they have lots of high chairs at all eating places. The only thing I would say is the pool is deep (for kid swimming) and also if you are not travelling with kids this place is packed with young families (great for us, but if I was on a romantic getaway I would choose adult only resort), the town of Malia is walkable about 25 mins - only 5 min drive. But the town is geared to young clubbers and strip joints… BUT the “old town” is cute and small and has good restaurants, so I would just go into old town to dine out. The beach is nice but more rustic/with large rocks. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend."

Daios Cove

10/10 Excellent

"A gorgeous private cove location, super helpful staff and the resort runs like clockwork. Highly recommend"

NIKO Seaside Resort MGallery - Adults Only

Casa Porto Boutique Hotel - Adults only

10/10 Excellent

"Staff nice and professional little touches enhance the hotel Would stay again thank you"

Alexander Beach Hotel & Village Resort

8/10 Good

"The rooms are outdated for a 5 star hotel but the beaches and surroundings including the pools are superb"

Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort

8/10 Good

"Inconsistent staff experience, on first day staff was spontaneous to provide beach towels them following days needed to find people to get those towels. Breakfast a little bit too crowded and noisy with limited selection. Over priced dinner buffet option to avoid. Italian restaurant on premise had great food but again service was not at level"

Elounda Residence Resort & Waterpark

10/10 Excellent

"Beautiful views and amenities. Fun for the whole family."
