We were looking for some winter isolation, and found it at the Outpost. This quiet cabin is close to Ohio Pyle, Laurel Caverns, and many more great spots to see and experience. And if you are a dog lover, you will be like we were and be in dog heaven. We had the honor of being welcomed and visited by Sophie and Bart, which made a great weekend even better. They became part of our many canine friends that we are privileged to have and look forward to seeing again soon. The pavilion by the ponds with the large fire pit offers a beautiful setting for an evening making mountain pies, hotdogs, and s'mores. Enjoy a porch swing while the fire pit crackles and great memories are made. Fantastic caring hosts and owners of this fantastic place is the cherry on top of a perfect weekend getaway. I met the owner of the property and spoke with his wife. They were friendly. 1\. The water pressure was extremely dismal and we could hardly bathe. They attributed the problem to a new well they had drilled for the property where we stayed. When they fixed it the pressure was fine but the water was brownish in color. 2\. The TV reception was dismal as they told me they have fiber optic cable. The remote was extremely slow to respond and we never watched TV. 3\. Close to all of the fun at Ohiopyle, but still secluded and utterly peaceful. The cabin was just what the 5 of us needed, and our dog enjoyed his time there, too. It was perfectly located to Ohiopyle, Youghiogheny River Lake, and Laurel Caverns. We spent many evenings at the beautiful cabin just enjoying the many deer and turkey that roamed around.
