About this property
Peacocks, blacksmithing, buffalo, wildlife, a studio cabin by the pond.
Farmhouse Gallery & Gardens
As you drive through the covered bridge and enter our 73-acre family farm nestled between the mountains, you will understand why we want to share this special place with our guests. A nature-lover’s dream, our log cabin studio art gallery by the pond is now available for overnight stays — a unique opportunity to experience the artist’s inpiration.
The gallery has a separate, private guestroom with a queen sized bed, cozy bathroom with shower, small fridge with freezer, microwave, and single-serve coffee and tea maker with complimentary pods. The guestroom is connected to the gallery but has a separate keyless entry to the outside. After hours access to the common area is available for the enjoyment of our guests. A porch with table and chairs is also available for relaxing outdoors.
We live in an area rich in history, and the cabin dates back 250 years. We have always landscaped for wildlife and provided food and habitat for multiple species. Gardening has always been a key ingredient in our lifestyle, as well as cooking, canning, art, antiques and music. We also have a small buffalo herd, and Sammy Fathead, our buffalo bull, is always happy to greet visitors who come with us to his pasture. We have an authentic, working log cabin blacksmith shop, where our son Robin produces beautiful and functional artistic metal work. Johnny has been a wildlife artist for over 40 years, and his watercolors, prints, and pencil drawings are in the gallery, as well as the metalwork and other items we make here on the farm. Pat has had a commercial kitchen and catered and baked on site for nearly thirty years — you might get lucky and time your visit on a baking day, when she is preparing her goodies for a local farmer’s market. We look forward to welcoming you to our farm!

This place was exactly what I was looking for. It was nice and quiet and very clean and made for a great base camp for exploring the area. Check in / check out was flawless, and if I’m in the area again, I will definitely book with Ms. Pat again.
I have been traveling and staying around the world for many decades and I must say that this was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing stays anywhere! From the animals to the old cabin with all of its precious antiques, we cannot wait until our next visit! Patricia and her family were beyond friendly and just made us feel so welcomed!

Such a beautiful property & the cabin with its history was perfect for my wife & I. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Pat the host is kind & proud of her property & her Family. Made us feel at home.
Adorable and unique stay. Love the character and the farm. Peacocks walking around, friendly bison, and we even saw a beaver! It was as described! Great communication, kind host! Super close to Johnson city, hiking, and beautiful Mountain views. To note: the only sink is in the bathroom and the bed was not the most comfortable mattress.
We had a great stay and Pat and John were amazing hosts. Sitting in the back in the rockers at night was very relaxing and we enjoyed our short stay very much.
Truly a pleasant experience, it was lovely. Enjoyed the natural wild life and the Kuerig as we carry our own kcups with us.

We recently stayed 2 nights at this wonderful place. It is a unique, relaxing, and beautiful environment. It is also located close to many activities available in the area. We loved spending time in Jonesborough and riding bikes on the Tweetsie Rails to Trails between Johnson City and Elizabethon. It was just the right retreat for us to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary.
The property was conventionally located off a main road but felt very private and secluded once you cross the covered bridge. The cabin is super cozy and has a back deck overlooking a pond. We loved visiting with all the animals!
A very well cared for property by a talented family, we stayed here for two nights and enjoyed every minute. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The property is great to see and walk around on and the family hosting the stay was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.
Such a lovely property with a truly cared for cabin. Our stay was short but the memories of this special place will last forever. Pat was incredibly kind and gracious! The cabin is beautiful, clean and truly an experience. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay and I can’t wait to come back.
We spent a couple of nights at this lovely quaint cabin while traveling through Tennessee. It far exceeded our expectations. A wonderful place to sit back, relax, watch the snow fall and be entertained by the peacocks, read and just enjoy the beauty of the property. Very clean, comfortable, warm and we loved hearing the history of the property. We look forward to returning again as we visit Tennessee.
Driving up and walking into the cabin are like taking a walk back in time or down memory lane. This cabin and property were the detox I needed from my busy life. Just as beautiful as the pictures if not more in person! The owners live nearby and were very friendly, down to Earth people. Can’t wait to stay here again!
If you love history, nature and animals this is the place for you. Quiet rustic setting and so very relaxing. Pat and Johnny are wonderful hosts. We will be back!
This was a refreshing stay outside the city, and very relaxing. We enjoyed waking up and seeing the pond and nature. Hostess was extremely pleasant, as was her son. Thank you.
Mrs. Pat greeted us, gave us a tour of our beautiful cabin, and we adored her! She knew it was my husband's birthday and she had made us homemade cake as a special treat. The cabin was so beautiful with its gorgeous view of the pond, birds, lilly pads, and peacocks walking the grounds!

Unique property with friendly owners. Feed the buffalos if you want. Quiet farm. Very different from.other places we've stayed at. Very enjoyable. Highly recommend
Our stay was exactly what we needed. Cozy and quiet; peaceful and very comfortable. Super clean inside and out. We loved having our coffee on the porch in the rocking chairs. Watching the mist float over the mountain was picture perfect. The gallery and pond add to the rich history of Unicoi. We can’t wait to return.
Was absolutley blown away by this place. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The wildlife and animals around the property were great to just sit back and watch. The studio itself was very clean and nice and made for a relaxing stay. The hosts are extremly nice and friendly people. 100/10 will for sure be back.
What a wonderful place and we loved the warm welcome from Pat & John. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality. So nostalgic, reminds me of my parents and grandparents. Such a lovely family farm we would love to visit again and stay longer. Best wishes for you, hope to see you again someday.
