The included breakfast had many options (Balinese, Indonesian, vegetarian, “Western”) and readily mixed. A real highlight! Very helpful and friendly staff - they claim that they want the guest to feel like family, and for sure we almost did. The hotel grounds are very well kept with lots of traditional art and flowers, almost resembling an ancient temple. Our stay was in February, so the hotel wasn't completely done yet, however, it didn't bother us as it wasn't noisy at all. The rooms and villas are amazing and very tastefully decorated incl. a bathtub and 2 showers (inside & outside). The service is also impeccable, especially Gusto and Eko, were always friendly and ready to help. We even got a complimentary 10-minute massage. The complementary breakfast can be chosen from a menu with a selection of 5 different 3-course meals (e.g. American, continental, balinese, etc.) and it's delicious (I recommend the Indonesian or Balinese breakfast). You can either have it delivered to your villa or have it in the restaurant by the main pool. The hotel is a 10-minute drive from Ubud center, since it's actualy located in Tegallalang, however, there's a free shuttle several times a day taking you to Ubud and picking you up again. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bali. The hotel is like a pearl in the middle of nature! The value-for-money is the best you can get. It was definitely our favorite hotel in Bali and great if you want to relax. The Royal villas for me are a little odd, the downstairs pool area can feel a little dark and small. The breakfast was in my opinion average at best, the fruit was delicious (you cant go wrong with fruit in Bali), Eggs Benedict was poor, english muffin was chewy and eggs were sometimes hard with a minimal amount of sauce. The transfer was random and carried out by a selection of local taxi guys rather than as in other resorts by a resort person, this cumulated in random experiences.
