This is such a beautiful property, the staff was super helpful and kind. The washer and dryer was a plus! The bathroom could stand a remodel in the ocean view rooms. We saw a roach (Rodney) in the drawer with the utensils and that was a turn off. The foods and drinks were top tier!! Overall I would stay again!!!
Loved everything about RWI. The only cons would be it’s too far to walk to center, which meant a LOT of money spent on cab rides, and the couch in living room was so uncomfortable that when we had down time, everyone stayed in their bedrooms. Staff, restaurant, grounds, beach, were all perfect!
I don’t usually post reviews but our experience at this hotel was not great and I’m really surprised at all the wonderful reviews. We arrived at the hotel in time for check in to find the air conditioner in our room was not working. We were not able to access our room until late evening (at which point we were exhausted). We requested another room but they said there were none available. The manager gave us vouchers to the restaurant on the premises to make it up to us. The room was infested with mosquitoes. The internet didn’t work for 2 days (no tv and no computer). My daughter got food poisoning from the restaurant. When my husband requested to use the bikes offered at the hotel to go to the market to purchase Gatorade for my sick daughter at 5:55 the manager at reception was rude and nasty and told him he can’t use the bike because at 6pm the bikes can no longer be used. When he explained the situation (that my daughter is sick) and that he will be back quickly she nastily told to take a taxi (for a 2 minute ride) showing zero humanity. The staff was ill informed about where and when to go places, sending us via taxi to a closed restaurant. Some of the staff were super nice especially Sheldon and a few were absolutely awful especially a manager who told me her name was Jeanne?. When asked in the last day if we can extend our checkout by 1 hour she was extremely rude explaining that they can not. No offer of you can keep your suitcases etc that most hotels offer. Awful
This was our second time at Royal West Indies and it was fantastic! The resort is so well cared for both inside and outside! The beach area is pristine. The employees are friendly and very helpful. Can’t wait to return!
This was our 5th time staying at Royal West Indies Resort, and the 1st time bringing our kids and grandkids with us. The 2 bedroom condo with ocean view was just perfect. Can't say enough about this beautiful place! The staff is wonderful, the grounds are meticulous, and the beach is stunning. We'll be back!
We usually stay at the Palms but decided to give the Royal West Indies a shot. They exceeded the expectations and then some. I'd highly recommend staying here.
Small quiet resort. Very safe. The staff is very polite and friendly. The rooms are clean. The pillows require an update. Only one restaurant with bar. The food is acceptable but expensive. Cocktails are 14- 20 USD, a glass of wine is 15 USD, a bottle of beer is 8 USD. There are excellent restaurants around, steps away from the resort, except Aziza. The supermarket is 15- 20 min walk away. The prices are triple compare to US. The beach is exceptional, with white sand and blue shallow waters. Long walks along the deserted beaches of the Grace Bay were fantastic. Watersports are free except parasailing. Overall our stay was excellent.
We really liked the location and the property. Our unit could have used some upgrades but overall, it was above average. Some staff was very friendly. The bartender was overworked and understandably gruff. Biggest complaint is that there was NO beach food and beverage service.
Every other resort had it but ours!! This was a bummer. Otherwise I’d give them a higher score.
Beautiful foliage and grounds. Outside pool areas very clean. Staff was so nice and helpful. The bikes offered could have been a little better maintained. One had a flat and one had no brakes.
Beautiful, serene property right on beach. Great restaurant with a good happy hour (typical resort prices). Rooms are comfortable and clean. Wonderful staff. Overall a great place for a relaxing vacation.
The grounds are beautiful, beaches and pool incredible, staff very friendly. Loved it! Only drawback is that the food and drinks at the restaurant are extremely expensive. You’ll need to take a trip to the grocery for long stays.
Rented two bedroom suite for family of 5 and it was very spacious. A little worn in kitchen area but the bathrooms renovated. Huge balconies and common area (basically a one bedroom condo with attached second room which was great). Full kitchen. Overlooked the pool/botanical area. Grounds were beautiful. Uncrowded resort with just enough people. Does not have amenities of other resorts (no pool or room service) but very good room cleaning/stocking, reception assisted with excursions and taxis. Towel, chairs and umbrellas service for beach which was beautiful and easy to find seating everyday. It's a pretty long walk to town area (15-20 minutes?) on the side of a road (can be hot) but used the resort bicycles a couple of times to go to grocery store. If you don't rent a car cab fare is pricey but we used cabs rather than rent to get to different restaurants in the area. It is not in center of town like other resorts but we liked the quiet. Easy beach walk to other resorts/restaurants. Used the Amani Spa at Grace Bay Club which was 5 minute walk up the beach. The restaurant/bar on resort is expensive, but not anymore so then anywhere on the island. Even the grocery store which we used to stock up on breakfast foods for the mornings on balcony was pricey. Great little town for walking, coffee, drinks and shopping. Really would have been better experience if they had a shuttle service to and from main shopping area. Would recommend the resort.

We love RWI!!! It was a perfect week for our family of 5. Gorgeous property, beach and beautiful clean pools. Our two bedroom/two bath condo was spacious and great for a week. Everyone was so nice, welcoming and kind and we felt very safe. So many great places to walk to, we didn’t need a car. Just bring $$ for taxis as they are not cheaper Sherman was a wonderful, kind accommodating host- thank you especially to him! We will be back!
We loved staying at the Royal West. Certainly on the quieter side than larger hotels but perfect for what u need. The Pelican bar has the best bar service staff (MJ and B are the best) food for bfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Easy to get a can whenever needed and the oceanfront rooms are a must.
Our stay at royal West Indies was fantastic, beautiful area, the things we didn’t like was very expensive and the taxi service provided (tinies) was not very reliable. Very late picking up at airport which required a different service to transport us to resort.
The property is beautiful and well maintained. It is situated right at Grace Bay and a few short steps to the beautiful beach. The staff are very kind and very helpful. I would stay again with no hesitation.
Excellent staff in facility; restaurant was excellent both in service and food quality. Rooms were very nice but without an elevator. No shopping or gift shop on premises so need to take a taxi or walk for supplies, groceries or gifts. Taxi services are available but need to be called. Suggest renting a car. 2 nice pools and directly on the beach.
