Very cozy and conveniently located in the Leelanau Peninsula! Quaint older cabin. The management company went out of their way to make sure we were warm!! I will rent from them again!!
Overall a good visit, but the first night they only left 1t. of dish soap for us so we had to call to try and get more the next day. People are right, the place is very hard to find. We were right there, but along with about 8 other cabins. The address isn't even correct and the cabin not labeled. They could do much better with this. Nice to swim on lake and go to bike trails.

This is the second year we have rented in the summer, and they are always attentive and receptive to us and what we need. They also were willing to discuss a payment plan for deposits that would work. Only recommendations is to put batteries in the clocks, tv remotes (the Netflix one would barely work) and fix the back screen door so it properly shuts. Only about 1.5mi. away from Tart trail to ride bikes.
This cabin was awesome and the lake is gorgeous! If you’re wanting to get out of the hustle and bustle of Traverse City, but still be close to beauty, this place is perfect. Suttons Bay is only an 8 minute drive with lots of restaurants and shopping. The only issue was finding the place. The address we were provided with our reservation did not match the address on the outside of the cabin or inside the cabin on the paperwork posted on the refrigerator. We had to call the property management company when we got there because the addresses did not match. They were helpful, but I feel like a lot of that could be elevated with the cabins being better marked. Other than that, the place is perfect!!

Wish they didn't have a generic letter for all properties. Didn't know where to put the garbage, The grill is unusable, had to go buy one because we brought all food that needed grilling. Needed more towels for 4 ppl for two day's. Tried calling management company per phone number but nobody answered and now return call.Otherwise it was a good weekend after we figured things out..

Overall recommendations
It was a nice rustic cabin for family vacation and fishing. We chose it for proximity to lake michigan beaches and nature conservancy trails. The directions were not correct..the address on the info sent to us, did not match the address on the cabin. I left a note on the table with the correction. Other directions were good on sheet but address was wrong. Both screen doors should be replaced...chipmunks came inside back door that would not close completely. We could have closed the heavy doors but it was high 80 degrees and we needed cross cabin ventilation. Otherwise, all was nice...very comfy beds, clean, quiet experience without
neighbors.
I had a wonderful time on a trip with my best friend! We each brought our dogs, and we loved this perfect cabin on the lake.

My friends & I booked this beautiful cabin for the weekend. It had a rustic feel with all the comforts of home. It was exactly what we wanted! The cabin was clean, the beds were comfortable & we cannot wait to go back. The only thing I would add is better directions or signage for the cabin itself.

Reviewer Comments:
The cabin was nice inside. Had everything we needed except it was cold at night and it would have been nice to have a small oscillating heater for the master bedroom. Parking was not as expected. It really didn't indicate where parking for each cabin was. Really didn't appreciate cameras watching us. We won't stay again.
The lake was gorgeous. The beach is sandy/hard bottom, which makes it nice to walk out in the water. While the property shares a dock with an adjacent cabin, it would have been nice to have access to a rowboat or kayaks to fully enjoy the water. It is a short drive north to the village of Lake Leelanau, south to Perrin’s Landing (Paradise Cove), or east to Suttons Bay. Traverse City is 10 min. away. The cabin has an excellent, super efficient space heater. We visited in September with warm days and chilly nights, so we used the space heater at night. There is also a fireplace but we learned after arrival that it is not usable for a real fire. The king bed was super comfortable with a fabulous view of the water when you awaken! Ample bath towels and wash cloths are provided for showering and the bathroom is remodeled with a nice new shower, sink, and toilet. The kitchen area has everything you need except a dish-drying rack for washing dishes. It has an excellent gas stove, a good-sized frig/freezer, a large coffee-maker, and a large counter-top microwave. Be aware that the key to the front door (which you are provided) does NOT work on the back door lock. So if you lock the front door from the inside and throw the bolt, then exit from the back door, you will be locked out. The biggest pluses for this rental were access to the lake and lots of privacy. The biggest downside was beige shag carpet throughout the cabin including the kitchen area.

Adorable Old Fashioned Lake Camp
The cottage was a wonderful throwback to my childhood on Lake Leelanau. It could have used a little more attention to cobweb removal but otherwise clean. One major issue that VRBO needs to address is the house number and signage inconsistency. There was one house number on the email, the number on the house itself was missing a digit but even substituting the digit it didn't match the email and there was a third number on the welcome note on the refrigerator. There was no name on the cottage but there was an antler next to the door that said "Drift-Wood". This cottage was supposed to be "Tackle Box". Also, the cottage isn't really tan, it is more of a gold / mustard color. This made for an uncomfortable time wandering around looking at all the cabins to make sure we had the right one. The neighbors were NOT amused. Other than that, things were GREAT! King bed was comfortable and we could hear the waves at night.
Wonderful place to stay if you're comfortable with spending time with the owner and her family!
The owner and her family live on either side of the property. The space between their two homes is the space you will be renting. They are SUPER friendly, accommodating, fun, and giving people. They made friends with our children, gave them compliments, and helped us with our 9-year-old when he hurt his foot on the rocks in the lake. Allowed our older dog to be off-leash and offered us food. They told us the place's history as it had been in their family for 70 years and asked us how we were. They were pleasant to be around and spend time with. The cabin was cozy and accommodating! The beds were comfortable, with plenty of pillows and blankets. We felt at home here. We don't mind having neighbors and being friendly in a common-shared space, so it wasn't a problem. If you want privacy, it may be a little off-putting at first, but their hospitality makes you feel like a part of the family. If you are OK with that, I'd recommend it! My only complaint is the address that the rental company provides you is not the same as the address listed on the house. We would have been totally lost if it weren't for the owner being there. We arrived after 5 pm, so the rental company was closed and did not answer their phone. Even the pictures of the outside of the home look different than when they were taken, so it's challenging to find. During office hours, the rental company is more than helpful, though!

Average at best
The key did not come out of the lock box first thing. There is a dock with a boat docked to it at all times. This dock cannot be used --makes no sense that some can use it and others cannot. We were forced to walk through the seaweed to get to our boat at the mooring and I got "the itch." The owner of the land is right next door and let's you know it. They also let you know the slightest thing "wrong" that is done incorrectingly per them. Kids and adults were constantly crossing through the property --we felt no privacy. The deck and lawn chairs were taken from us --my kids could not use them when they wanted/needed --they were finally returned. The floor near the back door is soft and is about to fall in at anytime. Half of the windows do not open or there is not a place to hook them open for the hot days. The cookware is very limited --very odd strainer. There is not a space heater on the cold nights. There was not a dumpster for our trash. It was there one day and then disappeared after the holiday forcing us to take our trash with us. However, there was soap, trash bags, paper towels, and towels/was cloths. Final conclusion: avaerage at best.
My husband and I as well as our friends enjoyed our stay at this cute quaint cabin! Everything we wanted to do was short driving distance from the cabin & LOTS of winery’s in close proximity! We will definitely be back! Would be perfect for a summer getaway as the cabin is right on the lake!

Very rustic. Pictures in listing were not the same as the Cabin. Had to buy cleaning supplies as Tv stand was coated in dirt. New electrical. No place to put your drink while watching tv. On last day there a couple was sitting in lounge chairs when I returned from lunch. They said friends of family. Nice people but strange they would be there to sit in the sun.
Cabin was ok. King bed had a topper with regular sized sheets. Had to remake the bed every day. Tv only worked at 1 volume and only for subscription streaming. No batteries in one of remotes. Kitchen adequate. Lake view was lovely, but we had 30 mph winds most of the week. Musty smell and carpeted. Will look for another location next time

Reviewer Comments:
We have been visiting the Traverse City area for many years, but this was the first time we stayed in Lake Leelanau. We enjoyed the setting but had difficulty with the door and lock on the cabin. We had no internet connection in the area, and only sporadic cell phone connections, which ruined our plan to order meals to eat in the cabin to avoid COVID risks. The area was beautiful and peaceful. The cabin was rustic and could have used some updates. Lots of spider webs, even in the kitchen area. But it was cozy and generally comfortable and we met some people who gave us the history of the cabins in the area, going back to the 1930’s. I would stay again, if I could use my phone (a problem I will address with T Mobile). And if the locks were updated on the doors. My dog was comfortable, and I appreciated that it was a dog friendly rental. Hard to answer the question about recommending it to someone else—that door lock is really an issue. Otherwise, I’d recommend it, and I plan to use this rental company again. They were easy to work with.

Rustic but mostly clean. There were a few weird things - dirty blankets under the bed (my son said there were dead bees in the blanket, I didn't want to check), and empty bottle under another bed. The beach are and dock were great. Pots and pans collections was kind of odd, but we made it work. Nice carpet. Hard to find in that the numbered address provided did not match the number on the actual cabin. Bathroom tiny but clean/nice. Beautiful lake, but no luck fishing. Maybe a list with directions on dock, etc. in the house would have been helpful. Good mini vacation for us.
