Nice independent Georgian Hotel with Georgian hospitality. The room had plenty of decorations, but everything was in a great shape and clean. very welcoming and located at the heart of Trakai.
We were in town for a holiday as well as to participate in a rowing event held in the area over the weekend. Our arrival was quite late, yet the reception staff was friendly enough to check us in at this later time. We were very happy with the room we booked - a luxury suite with a very well equipped jacuzzi, a comfortable and great-sized bed, mini fridge, and last but not least excellent air-conditioning which was highly necessary as it was quite hot and humid.
Breakfast was delicious, however we felt it could have been served at a slightly larger range of time. Portion sizes were also rather on the smaller side, however this is from the point of view of an athlete and a man with a large appetite !
All in all we had a great stay, and would recommend staying in the luxury suite for a relaxing lakeside couples vacation.
I want to give Argo Trakai a top rating, but I can't. The location was ideal for me, the design is lovely with the Georgian style. The room, including the bed, was very comfortable, although it was a bit chilly. The fellow who checked me in and served me for breakfast is a very nice man. The problems: 1. When I arrived, I was told that I wouldn't be able to have a meal. It was a half day, because of Christmas. The restaurant would be closed. 2. I chose the hotel because of the spa that sounded so wonderful. I wrote, ahead of time, asking if it would be available but didn't hear back. Upon arrival I was told it would be an extra 90 Euros! Ordinarily double that! Nothing on the website indicated an extra cost. 3. Lovely bathtub in the room, but the water was tepid. 4. No mini-bar. 5. No kettle or hospitality drinks such as teabags, bottle of water, etc. 6. I chose a breakfast menu item with a croissant and was told there were no croissants. I almost laughed, because I expected something to not be right about it. The item came with regular bread and was not even warm, although it did taste good. I want so badly to give Argo Trakai a 10/10 rating, but it's just not possible. 6.5 would be more like it.

Stayed one night on route to a local evening reception but also wanted to visit Trakai again. Lovely Georgian styled place with excellent cuisine and really nice (mostly) Georgian staff . Spent the evening outside in a chilled atmosphere and had great food/wine . Used the impressive basement Aqua Spa in the morning - an added bonus, before breakfast.
Overall the room and location is excellent and staff very nice and friendly.
Shame space is limited so parking is an issue but otherwise lovely place and hope to visit again
My room was truly awful. It was small, dingy and worst of all very close to a busy road. Cars whizzed by all night. When I complained at check in, they wanted me to pay 55 more euros for a different room that was only marginally better and was still loud. No way this is a 4 star hotel.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Cleanliness
Avoidable transaction.
We were not given the room we had booked and prepaid for. Breakfast hours were extremely limited (9:00 - 11:00), so we did not have the breakfast we had already paid for one morning. The room was too hot, with no air-condition. Too noisy, too, the window was literally on the tables of the restaurant.
